My first comic!!

Not much funny about it though. This is a story comic. It tells a story that takes place in the WoLaD timeline but, you won't really see it. I make hints at it a few times in the text, and the end of this comic will take scenes from mine and Gem's RP, but this is going to be the full telling of it. Not sure how many pages it will be, but I'll try and explain things here in the comments section.

This is being told from the perspective of Akeme Yang. We'll find out more about him especially on page two, but basically he's looking back, telling the story of his life with Deannalee Rodnara. You should know Deannalee by now, the mother of my character Jade. She was...initially more of an antagonist character in my story...giving Kashkie a hard time, but even with the more recent chapters she's become the victim. This will offer insight into how she winds up where she is, what Akeme's place is in all of this, and what becomes of them after Deannalee's time in WoLaD inevitably ends, and both their roles in the afterstory, that is, our RP, begins.

Anyway, in the corner faded out is young Deannalee, around the age Akeme will first meet her. She's faded out because she is a memory at the time this story is being told, that is, the time Akeme is reflecting on it. The ending, which is a surprise, will catch up with him at this time, and, well, you'll see. It's a surprise for a reason lol

Young Deannalee and Akeme in the bottom right were drawn together. The sketch of older Dee was done a few months ago, and I thought to use it in making the cover. The lineart and color on all three of them was done separately, so I could move them around and position them. The background is Spirit Island, which, you'll see was taken from the first panel of page one, which I'll be posting after this. I added some smoky white to make the words easier to read, and, to give the look of clouds, which hints to a big part of the story. Think of what clouds represent.

Then there's the title, Transcendence. That also hints at the big theme in the story. This will become more obvious by page two. I won't spoil, but keep it all in mind =3 The phrase below it, Hai h'nai eru, qu'etal, is the Spirit Island dialect of the phrase, "I love you, forever" something that, spoken in both that way and saying, "Forever I love you" in return, was shared between two lovers only. Keep this in mind as well.

I think that's enough for now. I gotta say I love older Deannalee in the bottom with Akeme I just...kept loving how she looked. I'm glad I added her in for the cover. I don't know how long this comic will be, but I have ideas for pages, and how I want it to end, so we'll see what happens.

This is gonna be a bit of a collab between Gem and me. She's going to be doing shading on the pages. I did everything on this page just to save some time lol As far as the other pages go I'll do lineart, flat color, and color in the eyes since that's a trademark of my style, and she'll be doing the shading to make it look pretty XD Bow down to her amazing skills when you see them XP I'll also be adding in the text and sketching the pages obviously.
