Here at last we meet the main antagonist of the story. If you've read WoLaD, you've already become familiar with him. You may have loved him to start, or hated him from the beginning, and rightfully so, if you're as perceptive as Akeme here is.

So how does he make it with Deannalee? As of now he's not a threat, as Akeme says the danger is still contained at this point. He does geniunely like Deannalee, and despite being arrogant, he's one of the most powerful males in the village, something her mother likes; power but not too much of it. This is also important.

He wields water and air, giving him control over ice as well.

Powerful but arrogant, and like many echidnas he has a very short fuse. This will come into play for the worst later in the story. For now, he's gentle enough, offering Deannalee a star flower as he begins to try and flirt with her. They're around the age of fourteen at this point, three years away from when Deannalee becomes the Guardian, and thus is able to marry. It's obvious that to Akeme's horror, Deannalee is receptive to the flirting, meaning Teikaru's played his cards right so far.

But he's not just changing Deannalee's feelings, as we will soon see. As of now, Akeme's hurt that he can't do anything to help her. He can only stand by and watch the nightmare he calls Hell Incarnate unfold on someone he's grown close to.

Time will tell many things.

I'm pretty happy with this page. As much as I hate Teikaru for what he eventually becomes, I love how he came out in his panel at the top. Deannalee looks a tiny bit younger in the face in the middle panel but I reckon that can't be helped lol I don't think I've left anything out...Akeme's got all of his hair and marks, which I seem to love to forget at least a little of them when I've done him. Two of the things that bug me are the placement of the words at the bottom of the bottom left panel...they might not be hard to read but there just wasn't a better place to put them. One other thing is the fact that I repeat the word danger so close together in the last two panels, but by the time I realized it it was too late to change it. Ah well XP

I love painting sunsets can you tell? lol
