Aphrodite a petty mean spirited kind of ugly
so when they faded off I didnt even give
a second thought

portenting as the dawn

When the time came that he need be gone
so the people could carve new parthanons
in the guise of steeples to new gods
I stopped.
I saw him look into the dirt wide eyed
near to cry his eyes struggled to reason
the need for him
to be no longer
believed in.

As Apollo passed
I felt the sunshine cast
as a last surging warm
goodbye
and there
I cried
for what the world
would beget
bereft
of Apollo's kind.
