Description OMG YOU GUYS.

THIS MOVIE, YOU GUYS.

O.M.G.

STOP ME BEFORE I FANGIRL AT THE UTTER FABULOUSNESS OF THIS MOVIE.

SERIOUSLY.

WITH THE MOOD WHIPLASH AND THE TEARS AND THE RAINBOW CONNECTION AND THE ADORABLE PUPPETS AND THE SONGS AND WALTER AND THE LAUGHING ....JUST-

AND STEVE WHITMIRE AND PETER LINZ NEED TO WIN AWARDS. LIKE, ALL OF THEM.

AND I TOTALLY KNOW SKEETER ISN'T TECHNICALLY A MUPPET AND RIZZO MADE SHORT APPEARANCE IN THAT MOVIE, BUT FORGET LOGIC RIGHT NOW, I CAN'T EVEN THINK STRAIGHT. IT'S THE MUPPETS. 8DDDDDDDDDDD

LIFE'S A HAPPY SONG.

---
(Sorry I've been gone so long. I hope to fix that, and I hope you guys aren't too mad at me. )

The Muppets are all (C) to the Walt Disney Studios

I used to LOVE that show back in that day and I saw BOTH of those movies so far! However during the show way back, they REALLY should have gotten Michael Jackson to be a special guest star too (of course while he was still his original black self during his "Off the Wall" album) I mean he could have sanga little something for MISS PIGGY!

They were originally going to include one or two SS character cameo's (I believe Elmo had confirmed one.), but because the characters are owned by different studios (Disney owns the Muppets. The Children's Television Workshop owns Sesame Street), legal troubles got in the way and they were either unable to aquire the rights to use them, or felt it was too much of a hassle, so they wrote them out.

At least, that's what I read.

Well. it's only natural. People love the guy in the center of all the madness that is Jim's alter-ego Kermit, his bad comedian sidekick/adopted brother Fozzie, the OG Diva Miss Piggy AND of course, the resident blue daredevil (no correlation to the blind Marvel superhero) "weirdo" with a affection for poultry, no matter "Whatever" supposed "alien" species he is in Gonzo. They, along with Rowlf, seem to be the anchors holding this merry band of crazies together.

Yay! Whenever you feel like chatting (Or fangirl gushing..whatever. XD) just shoot me a note! ^__^ I'd be more than thrilled to chat!

Oh, the muppets definately has a lot of fans, but I think it's more of being fans of the actors as opposed to their films which, in my belief, is why they did a good job with the movie. Because they were potrayed as actors and not characters being played.

JUST MORE ART IN GENERAL! IT WOULD ALWAYS BE SUFFICE! and yes I must say that BBC's Sherlock is WONDERFUL! I loved it. It's a short series though, and it's very suspenseful. You MUST watch it! (afterwards maybe reading the hunger games)

OF COURSE! however I think that's what were doing now xD

I saw it opening day!...er...night! With one of my sisters! Wore my Kermit hat (and Rainbow Dash shirt ) for the occasion too. T'was a good two hours of Muppety goodness! Everything was perfect, everything was grand. xD It was 8:00 on a Wednesday night, so there weren't that many people watching it with us. There was a small family in-front of us that was really enjoying it. ^^

I agree with you on those awards! "Life's A Happy Song" really deserves Best Original Song. If not, at least "Man or Muppet". I'm surprised Rizzo didn't have a major role, but I suppose that's what happens when you have so many characters to keep track of. I have a feeling a lot of characters had their screen-time/lines cut.

I do admit I was a teensy bit bummed that there were any references to other Muppet-related shows *coughsesamebearfragglescough* but I LOVE the reference they made to the first movie.

I 've really missed your art...and I'm really diggin' the way you drew Gonzo up there. I've been meaning to draw some of the MS cast too. Lately, I've been focusing on how to draw the Bear crew better...I want to do a little study on each of the characters but I'm still practicing on Bear.

rfr67gal In reply to Kirbtaro05 [2011-12-06 05:11:42 +0000 UTC]

OMG, you are so lucky you got to see it opening day/night! My dad had said we were defiantly going to see this one in theaters (Since a lot of the time, we just wait for it to come to DVD), but we didn't get a chance to go until Sunday. So we were a tad behind on the Muppet movie fan wagon. XD The whole time, my heart was just..gah..I don't even know what it was doing. Crying, laughing, getting excited over references I recognized. X3 It's odd because even my brother and sister (Who really aren't big fans of the Muppets in general) simply ADORED this film. That's gotta count for something, right? I can't remember how many people were in our theatre, but it was certainly much more full than it usually is on a Sunday matinee.

So cool you wore your Kermit hat! I wore my Gonzo shirt for the occasion. ^_^ Granted, it was under my winter jacket most of the time, but hey, it's the thought that counts. X3

"Life's a Happy Song" was just so...Muppet-y, I can't explain it. Not to mention it was so catchy, it defiantly deserves at least a nomination. I wasn't crazy about "Man or Muppet" (But the way it was choreographed and played out was HILLARIOUS. ), but "Pictures in My Head" made me tear up and I loved that one, so if that got nominated instead..I'd be happy. :3 I think the reason Rizzo didn't have such a big role (And don't quote me on this, because I'm not sure) was because Kermit had such a big role to play, thus Steve Whitmire was a bit busy with him. According to other sources, the original cut of the movie would have been over two hours long. So a lot of cuts here and there needed to be done. I demand a Director's cut, Disney!

The references to the other Muppet movies are some of the things that made me most happy. X3 I was kinda bummed other shows didn't at least get a nod, but I think I understand why. Elmo was originally going to make a guest appearance, but because he is not a character owned by Disney, legal troubles got in the way. Those legal troubles prevented any other nods. I don't know if Fraggle Rock is owned by Disney or not, but if they aren't, same legal troubles. And Bear IS owned by Disney, but I don't think he (being created after Jim Henson's time) would have been a top choice for guest appearance, since he wasn't around "back in the day", which is what this movie seemed to focus on. But hey...there's always, say, a possible sequel or television show if the rights are sold...soooo...

Aww, thank you, my friend! Gonzo's my favourite out of all of them too (And the second Kermit head. X3) and since he's my favourite, I'm glad I was able to do him justice. ^-^ I've really missed drawing, but lately, I just haven't been able to draw anything decent. I don't even know what my problem is. I just can't do it! D: It's been going on for a long time now. I wanna get out of it though, I have some Muppet idas now.

Ooh, that study mention has peaked my intrest! ;3 I look forward to your drawings if you ever get around to finishing them! Never enough Bear fanart! (And I know what you mean about Bear. Any other angle but the front is impossible for me. And the body...yipes...) Do you know how long its been since I've drawn the Bear crew? Too long. XD

Kirbtaro05 In reply to rfr67gal [2011-12-09 19:55:51 +0000 UTC]

I keep hearing how people were crying over this movie. I didn't cry at all (Makes me feel kinda heartless now. ), I was too busy laughing my head off and staring in awe. x3 I'm glad your siblings really like it too. Speaking of which, I wanted to drag my youngest brother into seeing it, but he was acting like he had something better to do. (which he did not.) It would have been even more fun...I was coming home from college for the holiday and I thought watching a movie with both of my closest siblings would be a nice way to start the break. :/

I need more Muppet shirts! I still don't have any MS character tees! I was gonna wear my Oscar shirt I got somewhere over the summer (I think?), since it was the closest character I had to Kermit, but I then thought of "The Rainbow Connection" and the RD shirt idea stuck. ^^

Yes in deedy, and it even has a banjo in it! Oh my gosh...I can't believe I already forgot about "Pictures in My Head" That probably would make a better nomination...I changed my mind now. x3 You have a point with Steve Whitmire being buzy. And I second that director's cut! >8O

He was? Bummer...Fraggle Rock is still own by The JHC. I hear they're still trying to make a movie with ther characters. I hope everything goes well, I'd love to see what a Fraggle movie would end up like...I just hope it doesn't get too modernized and stays true to the original show, y'know? It's hard to find a reboot film that does that.

I wish Disney would do someting with Bear. :C It's starting to become the most forgotten out of the core Muppet shows. People are starting to forget that it even existed...D: It breaks my heart whenever I come across articles that came out around the time Breakfast with Bear was airing, saying all the wonderful things they had instore for the francise. Hopefully they'll get to doing something when Disney Junior (I still don't like that name. xD) becomes its own channel. And I really hope at lest one of the Bear characters will interact with a Muppet Show character...

Aww...D: School work and procrastionation is what's getting in my way of drawing. Also, I have a wireless mouse now, so it might make it harder for me to trace over my work in GIMP. :I I don't feelin like follong around with this mouse, so I'm aiming on getting a tablet or for someone to buy me one. (Christmas hopefully! )

I have so much referance on him now, it's crazy! @_@ Just when I think I have an idea of how his body is supposed to be, I notice something else about him! His shape seems so difficult; it's not used to what I'm drawing. I'm trying to get myself to stop focusing on that and to just give 'im a try. I want to be able to draw him to the point that I'm comforatable with drawing him, but that might take a while and I have SO MANY ideas! Argh...

But here's the thing with Bear; he & his friends were made after Jim Henson's time & were part of the later Muppet brands.

Jim Henson Muppets: Sam & Friends, Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Little Muppet Monsters/Muppet Babies, and Fraggle Rock, with The Jim Henson Hour as an honorable mention.

Later Muppet brands: Muppets Tonight (The Muppet Show's 90s equivalent), Bear in the Big Blue House (in conjunction with Disney), Animal Jam (the first major starring role of Leslie Carrera-Rudolph as zebra Edi, with the iconic giggle as a giveaway [ [link] ]), The Hoobs, Muppatop Shop, Johnny & the Sprites (with the guy who played Avenue Q's Princeton & Rod [ [link] ] & a purpose similar to that of the Fraggles, in terms of the show's symbiotic nature), Pajanimals, etc.

Creature Shop: Eureeka's Castle (done for Nickelodeon in the 80s [ [link] ], with mister "Goosebumps" R.L. Stine himself as writer), Allegra's Window (also for Nick, but much more short-lived), Dinosaurs (first made-by-Henson TV show to truly deviate from the usual Muppet formula), Star Wars' Yoda (performed by Frank Oz), Fairie Tale Theatre, Farscape, The Storyteller, Dark Crystal & Labyrinth (feature fantasy films, with the latter partially made by George Lucas), the dog-like flying thing from The Neverending Story, the live-action TMNT, etc.
