No, it's indeed an American tree sparrow~ 


I should know as I've seen both multiple times, and I can tell the two apart very easily~

good portrait ! i agree with Dee, looks like an American Tree Sparrow, i believe that yellow lower mandible is a key identifier.

no problem. The juvi white-crowned isn't a bad guess...almost every time I think I've seen a new sparrow it turns out to be a juvenile white-crowned sparrow.
