Just a portrait of Mayu as a human.I'm still working on a backstory for her (before becoming a snow spirit) and what exactly her personality was like, but for now I just wanted to try drawing her without the ghoulish scars and pale complexion.

she does look very pretty, but the fold of the kimono is the wrong way round. In Japan, if you have it the wrong way round it represents death. Β Β Great job on the picture though!!! ^^

Yeah, it takes place in the feudal era/late feudal era. When I thought about it, it made sense to me anyway that the lack of more modern technology would add to the severity of the harsh winters, and make traveling very dangerous in their world. Which is how Mayu froze to death probably.

Hmm, dunno. Maybe one of Mayu's friends could be of the Samurai class or something. But I don't really want to make ninjas and Samurai an actual focus.

Oh yeah no sure, totally. I just thought it might be nice to have just for one story at least to have it as kind of side thing. Like a one-off character or villain, sort of like Inu-Yasha.
