After mucho pressure from my mates ive moved this pic from scraps to gallery. Its a traditional drawing using pen and ink with a little digital shading for effect. Based on my love of HG Wells: War of the WorldsRelated content

Oh, awesome. Love the 'whole war of the worlds' culture, but I've never read the book, more of a musical fan. When I find a copy I will definitely read it though. I drew a fighitng machine too, looks different to yours though. [link] Not as cool.

*sharpens blade*...i've seen one of those...back when i was new at this assasin gig...took it down with a "atoya circuit scramble grenade"...not supposed to be used at close range to target...who knew, I was a rookie....lost my sight from the blast...what a day...*shapens blade*

Hrm, a little bit different from what I imagined them to be...but it definatly captures the feelings that the book projects of them.
I always thought they would be a bit more mechanical in nature...

That's a very original design!
I didn't read the book so I dunno if it captures the feeling well, but it's an interesting sketch none the less

Thanks for the comments.
The Martians use tripod machines to wage their war. 100 feet tall with a basket on the back for collecting human 'food' with their tentacles. The cylinder behind the main body is the basket. Their primary weapon is a 'heat ray' which is basically a microwave cooker but hundreds of times more powerful and can hit targets miles away. The heat ray in my picture is the turret on the top of the 'hood' or head. Wells describes the Machines to use a swift yet casual rolling moting to their movements like a human casually walks down the street.
