Description
"In classic Greek mythology, below Heaven, Earth, and Pontus is Tartarus, or Tartaros (Greek Τάρταρος, deep place). It is either a deep, gloomy place, a pit or abyss used as a dungeon of torment and suffering that resides within Hades or the entire underworld with Tartarus being the hellish component."----from Wikipedia----

Wonderful work!! I love the lighting/relighting you did and the way you emphasize his face in the darkness.

Interesting concept for the myth, I just don't get the feeling of dark deep depth and i feel I should see.

Not really. Even though the place is dark, etc....I wanted to stray away from the cliche althugh fun to do images. In my interpretation i wanted the male character to be th light coming to Tartaus but not angellic and yet stil have a sense of gloom and darkness. A tough balancing act that I hope if I go forth with a series I'll get better at depicting

I think that's my criticism, the "sense of gloom and darkness" is not strong enough for me. I'd like the sense that there is something there in the darkness, but it's not enough depth for me to believe he's coming into the light, you know? I'll take a look at the other versions and see what you come up with.

Wow - I can imagine what a trip he has undergone and what's left. It's great that you didn't use the usual clichés like dungeons and fire, I think we're all overly familliar with that concept now.
I read a story once, a kind of Greek Mythology fanfic where Zeus ventures down under to save his primary family, in that version Chronos never ate them but locked them up in Tartarus instead. Quite interesting take!

I was heading into cliche land. let's be honest that stuff is fun to do , but than thought maybe toning that stuff down might be a good challenge for myself. Thanks and thanks for the info

Yeah it sure is, but I always consider it a challenge to balance outside it. But I do fall down there from time to time, making planets all over and pretty girls and such
