Description
The Obbeeysian Baroness class was designed by Quinn Fulton in 1916. This was the first design she made after her time studying in the UK. The design made some changes to the boiler, as well as the dome she would use from that time onward. These 0-6-0PT engines were almost twice as powerful as her previous 0-6-0ST design. They had boilers capable of reaching up to 225 psi when first designed. Over the decades, they were given new boilers multiple times during overhauls. Most times this happened, these boilers would be capable of reaching higher boiler pressures compared to the previous ones. This design was made during the First World War, and as a result a lot of these engines were built and shipped to the allied forces.
As was tradition, the prototype was bought by the Obbeeysian Coal Mining Company, as well as three more, one of which was non-faceless. A faceless and non-faceless member of this class worked both at the Peesh Coal Mine and the Blein Coal Mine. The non-faceless engine working at Blein was damaged in 1926 when there was a flood at the mine. The flood happened because of heavy rainfall being too much for the pumping engines to handle. Luckily, there was nobody in the mines at the time because the workday had already ended when this happened. Because of the damage to the mine, this engine was put in a shed for about three months before they could afford to repair them.
