Long time no see, huh? I've missed updating him, Moran's sucha fun lil 'stang. I was just having the hardest time picturing this response. I love Serafimo's band, but there's a lot going on in this event(when is there never??)
I really wanted to include the bachelors too but I just didn't see the layout, I really was stuck on this kind of perspective. I'll try and include them next time. Also gonna try and transfer to fall art, I really have never tried it before.
Gotta enhance the realism! AND I love the color scheme of my herd, justsayin

Stallion: Moran(#80)

The newly formed band of horses run into another herd on a humid day. They investigate an old horseshoe as two stallions rush to steal mares.

Story: Tallulah swiftly took charge and lead the way up the hill. This had been the general direction Moran had been heading in, after all. Little runty Brune sped to keep up with the longer-limbed champagne. As Moran followed up the rear, Brune squished in closer to Tallulah. She was hardly concealing her fear. Brune repeatedly peeked back at the pinto stud. What had he done?? Was she just one of those skittish ones? Though Moran had met many horses and many mares, he had hardly run across a mare so startled by him. Any especially loud step and she'd flinch closer to Tallulah. Well, it couldn't be helped. At least she wasn't slowing them down. The trio made quick work of the hill and finally crested to another plateau. Here, the wind finally caught and a strange herd made themselves aware. A bright dun whinnied to her stallion, trotting closer nostrils flared. They were some distance off, but nearly at the entrance of this deer trail Moran's band seemed to be following. That open plain held nothing of interest to Tallulah, and her heart was set on higher ground for no particular reason. She looked back at her lead for instruction. His eyes scanned the stranger herd. A heavy-built stallion grazed nonchalantly, apparently hardly bothered by their intrusion. It may change when they got closer, but Moran was self-assured. If he had truly weighed the matter he may have wanted to spare his new assests the stress of a potential raid, but he ushered them on anyway. Moran angled himself between the dark stallion and his two mares, head low and ears slightly pinned. Don't even try it. The near-black stallion continued grazing. As they came to pass the appaloosa mare picked up and assessed the band. She reminded Moran of Tallulah. A strong, steady gaze. Scaling the game trail, their hooves chipped at shale remnants. Finally the dark stallion's band all stood at attention to the newcomers. Both stallions appraised each other, and neither heated to battle. Tallulah would go on to lead them safely up the cliff, and once again to a rolling hill, with a refreshign breeze flying over the plain. Her head high, Tallulah breathed in the sweet smell of long grass. Brune appreciated the space and moved off a few strides, taking mouthfuls of the long, stalky grass. The chilling wind made Moran puff his chest proudly. The days weren't so scorching and the world took on many scents.
