Last year, on September 10, 2021, President Biden issued a Proclamation about 9/11 in which he stated:

"Twenty years ago, the United States endured one of the most unconscionable tragedies in our country’s history. The cowardly terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and onboard United Flight 93 cut short the lives of 2,977 innocent people. These attacks tore a hole in the heart of our Nation, and the pain of this tragedy still remains. Each year on this somber date, we remember the horror and bravery shown that day, just as we remember how we came together, united in grief and in purpose. Each year, we renew our solemn vow to never forget what happened on September 11, 2001, or those who lost their lives."

Those words about the tragedy resonated with me then and they still do a year later.

It IS a somber day and one that should never be forgotten.

I had originally intended to post two light-hearted images today (rather than a Dave Annis bondage drawing). One post was going to be a beautiful gift from donnaDomenitzo and the other was a picture I took while on vacation last week. But, upon further reflection, and after thinking about the two girls in my town who lost their father on 9/11, I didn’t think something even light-hearted would be appropriate today.

THIS image though, by Robert Nacke, which he titled “God’s Light of Hope,” seemed perfect.
