Description
Quiet as I might try to be, I guess that all my 12 pounds of glass and cameras and tripods and everything are a bit eye-catching, even for a sleeping lion.African Lion, Sacramento Zoo.
EDIT: Holy wow, a DD. Thanks so much to for the suggestion and to for the feature. It's only 2 in the morning here, and I can safely say you made my day.

You really deserve the daily deviation : D
I must have been really difficult to take this, be right there in the right moment, etc !
I think thatΒ this one , with a close up on the eyes, could have been such an amazing picture (well, it is right now), felines have that kind of look which is so captivating, you really feel something when you look them in the eyes.
Keep going your amazing work !Β

Yeah, that one would make a nice close-up, and I actually tried to get one, believe it or not, but it was just way too dark in there to get anything that wasn't crazy blurry. Oh well. It gives me something to work toward in the future, eh? Thanks again!

Thank you. There is a great image by photographer Nick Nichols (similar to this shot:Β images.fineartamerica.com/imagβ¦Β ) that I saw a long time ago that really inspired me to try to get a shot like this. I failed at it for a really long time, but I was lucky and finally got something that I was pretty happy with here. Glad you like it.

Yeah, that shot is really good, too, the colours are awesome.
It sure isn't easy to get a shot like this.Β I, as a person who takes often photos, can say that it is really hard to take THE PICTURE.
But my pics are nothing compared to this. You did a good job there Β

Thank you. You are absolutely right - when he opened his eye, it took my breath away. Probably more because I was afraid of missing the shot than for any other reason.
