I'm one million percent agreed with you on that one! Can u please show me/us how do you trace the outline on a 300lb watercolour paper and your ways of digital coloring too....cool tutorials!

I can still see my sketch on a light table, but it's kind of tricky!
My digital coloring is quite simple. i jsut put my lioneart on "multiply" and color benath it. I also use textures to overlay to give it a traditional feel.

basically you've made 2 version (digital & watercolor) right...
but why don't you just sketch & colored it at once?

GOOD QUESTION!!! I kind of wonder that myself sometimes....however my roughs are VERY rough.....plus I love the look of watercolor...and i like painting as well. i have to plan everything out or I'm not happy with it. Sometimes i jsut like digitally coloring stuff (like inked drawings) goes a LOT faster...but witha painting...you have an original piece of art to hang on your wall (well, i guess you can hang a digital print too).

Hey thanks a lot for sharing that process, my question was just answered, I had no Idea you could see through the watercolor board even with a light table.

it's thicker stuff (not really a board...but a very thick sheet of paper!)

Hey dude!!
I use harder leads that are lighter shades. I use a light table to trace my sketches onto the watercolor board. But that dang board is so thick that it's hard to see the drawing underneath.

Do you use a light table to trace the photoshopped sketch onto the watercolor paper? (this is for the kids at DeviantArt, I already know the answer...)

I really appreciating you taking your time to post this tutorial. I've been wondering how you do your work, too.
Even though you say that you "roughly color" on computer, they look absolutely beautiful already.

Hey Robb!
First let me just point out that I love you, I love how you paint, I love even more how you draw!
Now that I got this out of my chest, I have a tiny curious question:
How come you don't just do the whole thing digitally?
