I wanted to draw Darth Vader again - but I wanted to do something different. I thought that the juxtaposition of the Dark Lord of the Sith, ultimate movie bad guy - in a pretty, colourful woodland on some alien world would be something different!I've called it 'The Nightmare' because, the way I imagine it - the last thing you would want to see if you were in such a peaceful place would be Darth Vader suddenly marching towards you. But I also thought that, for Darth Vader, being in such an idyllic place would also be torture... maybe even a nightmare?
This is an entirely original depiction of George Lucas's character. Drawn by me in Photoshop using a Wacom pad.
I put a lot of hard work and thought into this and I hope you like it - but please let me know before you use any of my drawings anywhere else. Thanks.

Ever see or read of Dr. Faust, and how he summoned up a demon who told him of hell? The demon told him that hell wasn't fire and all that stuff. It was a state of mind. Hell was the see the glory and peace that is Heaven, and then to be denied it for ever.

Thank you for looking at this and for that piece of learned information. I'm sorry for taking so long to get round to replying. Β I haven't read Dr Faust - and i suppose i did venture into some 'faux-psychology' with this piece - and your description of the torment of heaven denied would certainly be a hellish existence. Β i only wish now that i'd given a little more time to embellish the illustration a little better!

I think it's a great illustration. Dr. Faust came to mind because you made the atmosphere around Vader look so lush and fragrant. I can imagine Vader trapped inside that life-sustaining armor, unable to enjoy the aromas and the fresh air. Deep down,maybe he can imagine being young Anakin Skywalker again. He knows Anakin would have loved it, and would have brought his wife there to enjoy it.
Please don't worry about taking long to reply. I went through a lot of turmoil a few months back and had to let a lot slide until everything calmed down.

I'd like to see the Na'vi fight the Empire......It'd be like Halo Reach, where they could fight all they want, but the Empire's armies are infinite, and they will eventually be killed. It would be a real allegory to the Indian/American wars, where the Indians had all the courage and valiancy they can have, but still, they are fighting a lost cause and evetually will be killed/exiled.....
