Super Skrull + Martian Manhunter = Super Martion

J'Onn Kl'Rt was a member of the native Skrull race from Mars, and was one of it's greatest warriors. Selected as part of their "Super Warrior" experiment, J'Onn was granted incredible powers in order to combat the super champions of Earth as part of the Skrulls plans of conquest. J'Onn dutifully believed that he was in the right and he was helping to conquer an inferior species, until he was unexpectedly abducted by a scientists teleportation experiment and taken to Earth far before he was finished his indoctrination. Once there, J'Onn learned that the people of Earth weren't the inferior species his superiors said they were, but were capable of great courage, integrity and compassion. J'Onn rejected the plans of his superiors and turned against his people to serve as a champion of Earth and defend his newfound home.

Once again we return to my- surprisingly popular- Amalgam series. For this blend, I kind of cheated a little, blending a villain from Marvel and a hero from DC. But when looking at the Martian Manhunter, there was no clear analogue at Marvel that would be a good fit in the hero section (that I didn't already use) so I decided to blend J'Onn with the notable Marvel baddie the Super Skrull.

The costume and look is a blending of the two styles, but it's a little more abstract than my previous efforts. I tried to keep the "X" pattern on the chest, but I didn't see a way to keep it red like the original Martian Manhunter's look and still have it blend well with the Super Skrull's design. So I decided to keep it blue, and make it integrated into the cape. For the face, I was a little worried that J'Onn's face wouldn't show through, and that he would look more like Super Skrull than a blending of concepts, and I don't really know how successful I was in that regard.
