I always wondered how those 8 legs were arranged, and was it 4 front, 4 rear, or 2 front & 6 rear, or ??, and were they arranged like your picture, or in 4 pairs? Is there an 'authentic' description somewhere, or does it just say '8 legs' and leave it to our imagination?
I love your version of it, and the dapple-gray color! Percherons are one of my favorites too.
I'd hate to be the farrier for that guy. It would be interesting to be the saddler though!
