Deamons - Part 1

Nice is a very nice place indeed, I see why they named it Nice. I wouldn't mind staying here a few more days, some sun would do me nice, but we had work to do. Keenan had been tracing the whole day, which left me alone with Vladislav. I didn't like the guy very much, and neither did he like me. I don't think he liked anyone now that I think about it, I never seen him smile once. He was Russian and was always waring a coat, even in this hot weather he wouldn't take it off. Maybe it reminded him of the cold winters at home, I don't know. Everybody know I hated him, but yet I got teamed up with him time after time.

Suddenly Keenan was standing in front of us, he was a guy that you never saw coming. He was also Vlad's opposite, always glad and willing to chat. He was Irish and had an uncontrollable black curly hair, kinda funny to watch.
"I located him" he said seriously and looked at me. He was a very good tracer, no doubt. "I'll be driving him your way, so move forward and stay ready". I nodded as response and he was off. I gave Vladislav a quick glaze and then we took off. I was faster than Vlad so I went ahead and up on the side in case our subject would run off. Then I saw something moving in the woods and I knew that it was time. I dove in and gave him a good kick in the stomach. Vlad was still not there so I took a good look at our subject. It was a pretty big werewolf, probably not completely tame yet and got crazy when he smelled blood. When it was me it tried to run of but Keenan was there and stopped it. His supersonic speed was perfect for containing the subject in the particular area.

"You know I have no pity for creatures like you" I said to the werewolf, knowing that it's human side could hear me. "Feeding of other peoples flesh is discussing. If I was in charge, I would kill you all.". The werewolf looked at me a smiled. "You are just mad that you got eaten once" he said. Being able to speak in it's evolved for was a proof that it wasn't a newbie, but an older werewolf. Combining that with the fact that it wasn't tame discussed me, how many people had it fed upon during it's days? "Maybe I should just kill you". I took of, charging a punch that would be lethal at least for a newbie werewolf. I was about a meter away from it when Vlad jumped between us and blocked my punch by freezing my shoulder. "They wanted it alive. Don't get out of your senses Angus." I hated that man so much. Angus wasn't even my real name, it was my middle name. Vladislav refused to call me by my real name, but I never found out why. I tackled a tree to get rid of the ice and gave Vlad an angry look. "And just where the hell have you been then?!" I said while warming up my shoulder. "You know I'm not as fast as you two. But I'll still get the job done before you do". I didn't really have a chance to stop him because of my shoulder, but with one punch he froze the entire werewolf. "Are you out of you mind?! He will die of hypothermia!"
"No he won't. His heart has stopped and he will be fine if he gets warmed up quickly enough. You were the one who almost killed him, not me. Now I suggest we call the cleanup crew."
"He wouldn't have died. He wasn't a newbie, he spoke.!
"You don't even know your own limit Angus. You barely know your powers, and I don't trust your so called control one bit. Be very careful."
I wanted to kill that man so badly, but I didn't have a chance before Keenan showed up.
"Nice work guys. The cleanup crew is on the way and will take care of it, but Vincenzo wanted us back as soon as possible so there will be a jet here in 5 minutes. We have to get out on the road before that."
I didn't object at all, I just wanted to get away from Vlad. I suggested that we raced there, knowing that Keenan would win anyhow, but he insisted that we should move as a group. So there is was another quiet run through the woods. When we reached to woods the jet was waiting for us, so we climbed aboard. There we saw that Berenice Pecora were waiting for us, dressed all in black as usual. She reminded in a way about Vlad, you didn't really see her smile a lot either, but since I had grown up with her she was almost like a sister to me. And how can you hate your little sister. Keenan seemed to be very happy that she was here and shouted "Bernie! How wonderful that you are here to greet your love after a successful hunt!"
The gaze that Berenice gave Keenan said one thing: Stop. But Keenan would never stop joking like that, it was who he were. "Come on, he continued, I know there is a panther inside you". Berenice may have the power to transform into a panther, but she was more like a... rock. She wasn't really much at all. She looked at Vladislav instead of Keenan. They got along a lot better, in silence.
"So it was a success. Very good. Keenan and Vladislav, you will be dropped of in Paris for standard procedures, and Gabriel will be going back to the house."
"Oh, so Vincenzo's favorite shall be given a special treatment it seems?" said Keenan and laughed. He didn't realize how much that hurt Berenice. I was Vincenzo's favorite alright, I was the son he never had. I was the son that Berenice was supposed to be. She had grown up being a disappointment, and even thought Vincenzo didn't show it we both know that was the case.
"Whatever. I think I'll just get some boring job in dull London while you guys are having fun in Paris." I looked carefully at Berenice, she had a great poker face, but I could see the sadness under it. Hopefully I hadn't made it worse.
