Description Here they are, both elite Tallest Red and Purple. I was going to make a individual rotation but I felt I needed to keep both together. The rendering looks odd, but I'm not exactly that great at rendering, so those weird shadows are going to be stuck there. These two will be modded in game as playable characters in left4Dead2, and they'll most likely look a lot better. I'm not sure if I should character replace two survivors in the same group or make Red playable playable for a different group while Purple the original Survivors.
Their Early stage of being created can be found here

Oh. My. Tallest.
IT'S AWESOME! And for all that awesomeness, you won a donut: Β

I'm not sure. As elites since they were probably pretty tall still, they probably would try to boss shorter elites around possibly. I imagine them kind of stuck up at this stage, lol.

Yeah, but, you know... I think Purple would probably be the hands-on-guy and Red would be giving orders~!

There was a time where my art seem to get more attention than it does now last year. But ever since I displayed interests in other fandoms and came back from a hiatus in December, not really caring that much about the IZ fandom itself anymore I think I lost watchers or either people stopped looking at my art or something. I dunno what happened really...

these are AMAZING dude, seriously

i tried an animation program last summer -- mostly because i want to go into 2d animation -- but we experimented with both 2d and 3d, and what goes into this kind of stuff is unbelievable i don't even nearly have enough patience;; but basically what i am getting at is THIS IS SUPER IMPRESSIVEΒ

you should like, make a short video recording of the gameplay when you put them into l4d2!Β

Thank you

I hadn't tried too much 3d animation, only rotation so far. I don't think the modeling is that hard, once I started doing it, I kinda got sucked right into it and couldn't stop. I'm still kinda hooked, since I'm actually learning a new form of art pretty quickly. But it does take some time to learn and maybe some form of patience I guess xD.

I usually do make short gameplay videos as preview examples fpr steam. They're linked to my youtube channel and is most likely a reason Jhonen was able to view my Zim mod for L4D2, since he embed my short Zim video in a link.

These are really, really nice!

It astounds me how ugly the official models and such in video games that had anything to do with Invader Zim were. I don't know why they modeled him that way??? Like holy hell.

But these are really pleasing to the eye and so are the other models you've made! You're pretty damn good at this.

Same, and those guys modeling the characters have had years of experience for 3d design. Most likely even had schooling for their profession too. While I'm just a n00b that just started 3d modeling with no schooling or anything. Just stuck relying on a ton of tutorials instead. Worst is that they're modeled lazily like no one put effort in the design phase, or someone just decided to ignore the ref sheet given to them to model after, or better yet they didn't have a ref sheet while modeling. Blind modeling is probably what happened, mixed with laziness.

Thanks, I'm going to eventually start aiming for making more higher polygon models, for now I'm just focusing on trying to get used to doing this a lot xD

How did you make those, anyway? XD Something tells me it's not photoshop

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoboticMasterMind In reply to DigitalRicochet [2014-04-06 04:50:34 +0000 UTC]

I did use Photoshop to create the textures, colors and ref sheet for the model. Otherwise I used Blender to model and rig the tallest.

I can easy make low poly models, but need to start getting into creating more higher polygon models with more detail soon.

I-n-v-a-d-e-r-X-e-n In reply to RoboticMasterMind [2014-04-06 04:33:26 +0000 UTC]

ohh, how long does it usually take to make one model?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoboticMasterMind In reply to I-n-v-a-d-e-r-X-e-n [2014-04-06 04:39:20 +0000 UTC]

For a low poly model, it takes only a couple of hours, but also takes a lot of planning by making sketch refs which can take about like a hour or so to create, additional hour or 2 to create textures, and making sure that it's properly weighted and rigged to be posed which can take about a maybe a hour and a half. Another hour or 30 minutes to get a pose you're satisfied with too. So overall to create the whole thing, textures and all, probably around 6 to 7 hours of work.
