Description I couldn't decide if I should categorize it as dark or humorous. I went with dark.

Cool idea, it might have gone with dark humor if that category existed. I love the shadow, how did you do it?

Using Adobe Photoshop, I usually duplicate the layer then press CTRL+click the new layer to select the active pixels in that layer. I then set my foreground color to black, and using the bucket fill tool, I fill the selected pixels with black. From there, I set the layer opacity to approximately match the shadow opacity in the original image.

Something I neglected to do in this image was to contour the shadows to match the peaks and valleys of the subject, but I could have done that using the liquify tool (filter->liquify). If the shadows were being cast over something more complex (like grass), I would have used Filter-->Distort-->Displacement.
