FFIV is one of my favorites. Kain being one of the reasons.
I wasn't too happy with the fact that he kept switching sides, though, especially when I'd spend so much time level grinding him and then he'd just... Poof.
Never as bad as my level grinding Aerith in FFVII before the internet was a big thing and I didn't really know she was supposed to die..
And now I have rambled. Whoops

Hahaha! Oh yeah Kain is awesome and I was really upset that he kept switching sides, but that's also part of what made him such an awesome character. About FF7, I never really leveled up Aerith that much but it must have been infuriating. I thought she'd be revived at some point of the game when I first played it and I was like "why don't they just use a pheonix down?!" but then I realized "KO" and "DEAD" wasen't the same thing... whoops.
