Description
He walked through his hallways, his pale fingers brushing against the stone wall. Around him, dead bodies littered the ground, their forms skewered so much so that he couldn't recognize his own servants. Perhaps that hand belonged to the one who brings his food, or maybe that leg over there belonged to the guard stationed at his door. All was silent as the King walked through his dead castle, marveling at his opponent's imagination.
"Come on, Lenny, stop hiding," the King said, a small smile playing across his face. He felt a giggle escape his throat as he surveyed his surroundings. Not a living soul in sight.
"Lenny?" The King turned to see the demon sitting on a banister, his robes slick with blood. "Don't expect me to call you Senny."
The King couldn't hold back his bark of laughter. "Oh no, that would be much to strange!" He covered his mouth, his shoulders shaking with uncontrollable humor.
The demon tilted his head watching the king attempt to control himself. "I believe seeing all of the castle's inhabitants dead has tipped you over the edge a bit, hasn't it?"
"Oh please tell me, how did my son fare against the mighty Lendax!" the King fell into a fit of laughter, needing the support of the wall beside him.
Lendax shrugged, "As much resistance as a fly." He began wondering if the king would do any better as his laughter became near hysteria.
"Dear little Kovaan! Lenny, how could you?" the King managed to say.
"Senkovah."
"Hm?"
"Am I going to have any satisfaction in killing you, or will you be like the rest?"
Senkovah's smile stretched across his face. "Oh I have no intention on dying tonight." As if on cue, the two flew at each other. Sparks flew as each drew their hidden weapons, neither of them surprised by the other. Senkovah's momentum sent him flying over the banister. Lendax was right behind him, slashing at his face. Senkovah flipped, kicking off the wall, then landed at the bottom of the stairs. Lendax gave him no time to recover and sent the king flying into the opposite wall. Senkovah dodged Lendax's sword, then spun, slamming his into the demon's robes. The blade embedded into the wall and Lendax kicked it aside, the metal breaking.
Senkovah felt a sharp pain as Lendax's blade cut his side, then ducked as it flew at his throat. What started as a game for the king was now becoming much more serious. The blood burned his side as the fire built up alongside his anger. He grabbed the demon by the arm, slamming him to the ground. His blood rushed as fire built around his eye. Lendax flipped Senkovah over him and the King fell through the wall. He rolled across the floor of the castle kitchen, his body breaking most of the furniture. He staggered to his feet, his hair getting in his face. He charged at Lendax, letting out a roar as the fire built up to bursting point.
Lendax met with Senkovah half way. The two tore at each other, Senkovah's fire driving him berserk. Lendax handled his blows coolly, the fire doing little damage. Senkovah's features were barely visible as his fire eye grew to a raging inferno. Lendax gave blow after blow, riding out the storm that he knew would end. His robe was torn and singed, but he knew it was only a matter of time.
Senkovah's body was torn to the limit. The fire was all that was keeping him standing. He had no conscious thought of what was going around him. He needed water, needed the cold. He entire being was on fire. He felt Lendax slash his chest, felt the blood, but the fire would not admit defeat. It filled the holes, replaced his lost blood, cocooned Senkovah's screaming mind. Lendax stepped back. He watched the fire vie for control, could see it trying to heal Senkovah's spent body. But there was only so far a human could go.
Senkovah fell to the ground. He couldn't move. He knew Lendax was still there but he couldn't move. His blood leaked onto the floor, emptying his body. The fire in him sputtered, then continued to burn. Lendax knelt by Senkovah. He could tell the king's body was dead, but Senkovah was still alive. He smiled. "This was fun, Senkovah. To bad." He straightened up. "Maybe another time, then." He stepped through the hole Senkovah had made in the wall and chuckled. "We'll meet again."

Carcasses littered the streets of Rienvia. Cows grazed in the fields, unfettered by the lack of human contact. Inside the castle, the Prince of Rienvia's body lay beside that of his retainer who was unable to protect him.
In the kitchen, the King lay on his stomach, his eye glazed over. A small spark appeared in his empty eye socket, then grew into a healthy flame. His fingers twitched.
