The head of a demons corpse rolls to the ground before being halted by the foot of it’s attacker. As the demon felt life draining slowly it darted his eyes up at the man who strike him down. He was a tall, young man with medium length, messy black hair tied back into a low ponytail and dark blue eyes. He wore a standard black uniform along with a haori with two different patterns: one solid red and one geometrically patterned with green, orange, and yellow.

”W-Who you be..?” Asked the Demon gargling it’s own blood. The boy didn’t respond he continued to stare at him; and his expression change from calm to serious. Right as the demon was fully disintegrating the slayer’s few words were the last thing he heard.

”Tomioka Giyū..” Giyū let out a collective sigh after finishing off the last of the demons.

”Oh my, what a mess you made Tomioka.” Said the voice dropping down from one of the branches then began approaching him slowly. The young man turned his head to face his partner who was none other then Shinobu Kocho.

She was a petite girl with pale skin and large compound-looking eyes that do not possess pupils, only a haze of gradient, purple iris that becomes darker, the lower it goes, which made her eyes appear similar to those of bugs. She had shoulder-length hair that faded from black into dark purple, usually fastened at the back of her head into a "yakai-maki" style, with a white and purple butterfly ornament with split ear-length bangs that rose a little away from her head before they fell down to frame her face, with two thinner chin-length strands below them; and she’s rather short in height. (Like Giyū), Shinobu wore the standard Demon Slayer uniform that consists of a dark purple straight-lined black jacket, and hakama pants that were tucked into a butterfly pattern fabric around her lower legs. She also wore a white haori that belonged to her older sister with a butterfly wing pattern, which faded into a turquoise then pink color down the sleeves, which were cuffed with a black and white dotted trim, and white sandals with purple straps.

”Well if they had hold still like a good little dog I would’ve ended them sooner.” He said looking down at the leftover ashes of the ones he slayed.

”Hmm, you have a point,” Agreed Shinobu, ”Well then we finish the mission; that’s all that matters. So let’s head back.” She smiled before her eyes closed gently.

Giyū nodded. When he was about to reply his sharp hearing heard movement—and it was close. Then out of the frying pan something had jumped and his world had gone slow. Before the two demon slayer’s eyes was another one of the demons—this one reach the height of fifteen feet and was a bit muscular in appearance, it’s soulless eyes met theirs, it’s nails where as long as a grizzly bears. This surprising beast pulled his arm back readying it’s self to bring in a deathly blow. Unfortunately Giyū didn’t had time to think or react for it was now bringing its fist down to them—however... it didn’t land a hit? Actually it didn’t land on anything of them at all but what could’ve stoped it?

He ventured to open his eyes after realizing he had close them. Once fully opened he found their attacker lying on the ground headless then slowly disintegrated in-front of them. "I guess Shinobu knew it was there and decided to take the kill..” he thought to himself while taking this moment to calm his heart down. Apart of him was also expecting his partner to say ”You miss the spot.” Instead when he turned to look at her what he had saw entirely different. He notice that she was staring straight with a surprise expression; as he see this he followed the direction of her gaze soon he too was surprised at what he saw.

He didn’t want to believe it but his eyes couldn’t deny what they were seeing. It wasn’t his partner, the members of the demon slayer corps, or the other pillars that had saved them from their doom.

What saved them from death was.... a Demon?
