Description Taken on an April 4 outing, and my first lesson in photography from Shaun. He took some beautiful panorama shots, which will be uploaded to his gallery soon.

You can all see why I've been complaining about snow in the Spring here. These are part of the Rocky Mountains, at the edge of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and a few miles south of Glacier National Park. The river is the main branch of the Flathead, which flows out of the Park.

[For some weird reason, the camera gives a date for this picture, a year before Shaun bought it. We haven't been able to figure out how to fix this, so please just ignore that. The date really was April 4, 2009.]

It's beautiful but I think living near high mountains would frighten me.
I sometimes get overawed with height.

We have rounded old mountains not very far away. We can only see them from a hill behind our town. They are like a blue line. They are covered in evergreens like Christmas trees. I can't find the word.

I know what that's like. When you're used to one kind of landscape, something completely different can be overwhelming. I have trouble in flat landscapes because there is too much sky.

Yes, they are boring . I prefer gentle hills to live in.
I like to visit sea coasts with rocks and cliffs.
We went for a holiday to the French Alps one very hot summer. There was a lake. It was wonderful.
I climbed up one of the lower mountains and got a very painful knee on the way down!
