I think we always miss something . maybe dont push it when nothing comes to your mind, I think it will be blocked to speak that way.anyway, without me really understanding what you want to demonstrate, I can say I love this piece with all the unity and duality it brings.

I LOVE the bizarre true forms- it's so surreal, yet has a very non-surreal quality that makes it seem more... alive. the strange forms... they move...

I'm always so impressed how you pump put designs like these. makes me interesting to see how you would conceptualize them in motion.

I didn't notice Until I had gotten to the fourth one that you gave the non-concrete forms different textures, which is a nice touch.

I also am impressed with how you altered the background, burning it in spots to emphasize the linework ... it's something I'll use in the future, i think! As a last comment, throwing the wax seal off the edge like that .. it just WORKS!

I love it. On the left showing the actual creature, an otherworldly entity, and the image on the right is how the prophet who witnessed them interpreted what they were seeing with 'bronze age' eyes.

Brilliant. I think you will like the creatures in the Avatar film. They look very similar to your style.

Rodrigo-Vega In reply to AOPaul [2009-10-08 01:21:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's one valid version and the most likely.
The other one is that their true shape is the one on the left on their home dimension/plane and take the shape to the right when they push themselves through the minds of a religious summoner, as they absorb and get impregnated by the collective conciousness of the people how read the texts by which they were brought to this world.

Very nice. Now you are getting into a multidimensional Lovecraftian explination... making it even cooler.

Looks like ancient astronauts-ish. I mean, they remind me of mythical creatures, and, the other(squid-like) forms could have been aliens, and people related them to look like the ones on the right? I don't know, but it's epic.

What was the idea for them anyway?

hurm, I've thought of that. Like some mythical creatures might have been aliens or other-dimemsional creatures, and that's how people veiwed them

This are awesome, IRIRIV. You did a brilliant job with the true forms; they're strange and abstract, yet have the same mood and presence as the traditional forms.
The stone-like texture of the winged bull's true form is excellent.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rodrigo-Vega In reply to Kevcatalan [2009-10-07 00:58:08 +0000 UTC]

Well it based on an idea I had for a pen and paper game, in which there are preternatural creatures, but the different ways to summon, the realities and minds of the people involved give them different shapes in.. well, it goes along those line.

Nvlutz In reply to Rodrigo-Vega [2009-10-07 20:06:33 +0000 UTC]

I actually thought the animals on the right were based on the four evangelists and the associated religious symbols.

John, The Eagle
Matthew, The Angel
Luke, The Ox
Mark, The Lion

Is this a coincidence or am I reading too much into it?

Either way, great piece. I like the lion and ox the most.
