Description Aware was mainly completed over an intense creative period over two days, with minor detail added in occasionally over a two week period. For me this artwork represents the unconscious Dragon Power of intention and awareness in the direct moment with realisation of death as the adviser. Aware was an automatic drawing experience, it just flowed where it wanted and a dragon formed. Also other animals formed that i hadn't discovered. People have for instance, noticed an undiscovered parrot when the image is turned sideways.

Metallic Ink and felts on paper
Dimension - 12 x 17 In.

I had this one professionally scanned and printed as a 1 of 1 limited edition Giclee Canvas Print (AO size - 841mm x 1189mm)
and exhibited it in Los Angeles at the 3 day 'ThirdEyeGathering' event.

This is a true example of abstract art, I'm honored that you commented me. O.o

Beautiful expression and flow, I can feel your creativity. When I look at the work I get that jumpy exciting feeling, like when you hear a bunch of surprising news that you have to take in all at once.

This is truly worth a fav. ^^

rogdog In reply to WideEyedSneeze [2006-03-03 02:21:05 +0000 UTC]

yea i didn't eat or sleep for alot of those two days, it really consumed me, which was great fun, probably the most fun i've had creating an artwork, it made me realise that there is a level of trust that you can give yourself into for the artwork to work itself out, i felt like i was going through the motions and didn't have to decide on what next to draw. the orange colour was the hardest part to decide on, i was very unsure about it.

This is one of the most amazing pieces of art work I've seen in a while. It literally blew me away when I zoomed it. Absolutely stunning. It seems like I could stare the picture for hours and never get bored. There's so much to look at too. Truly awe inspiring. ^_^ I can see why people begin to see different things when they tilt it at a different angle too! I can see the dragon, I see a frog, I see. . . I see everything from my dreams. I can't say enough how awesome your picture is. I only hope more people will continue to be inspired as they gaze upon your picture.

Hope you create some more stuff soon,

Ciao. ^_~

thankyou yes i will indeed be doing much much more, i feel i have only begun really. it's kind of daunting how much work lays ahead of me though, because i want to get much more detailed, and use higher powered magnifying glasses :/

its also a bit strange that i may never be able to see the frog you see,

How incredibly complex! Although the white square in the somewhat middle does create a big of a focal point, the piece does maintain a certain fluidity. Awesome.

This is really cool on a few levels. I like the spontaniety of the piece and how it does seem to represent a few recognizable figures... I like the use of color here, and how it seems to all FIT together like....something...fittish. And that's a good thing.

I love it. Favorited, NOT because it was on DD. ^___^

rogdog In reply to Fyzel [2006-03-03 02:27:57 +0000 UTC]

yea if i had to change the title of the artwork i'd called it spontaniousness. was very fun to do, i think everyone and anyone can create similar artworks by following a few basic rules, number one rule is follow the rule of the artwork as it's creating itself. thats all i did really as it developed , i noticed how a certain fittishness was happenning so kept on going.

It TOTALLY works. I used to do things SIMILAR but not on the same level. I have like 2 in my gallery...I'm gonna try to scan the rest, but I don't have one available all the time T__T

theres some kind of process going on with this kind of art, what would you name it, this style, it's kind of like free association, automatic, subconsious streaming thingy stuff. it works well though, and i think it can be easily learnt by anyone, all that is needed is patiece and the ability to notice a rule of style that develops as the artwork progresses from any chaotic starting point.

You described it pretty well actualy. The code we follow is to avoid judgments at all cost and any hesitation means you should stop the drawing.

Usualy we draw a full page peice, similar to yours, in just a few minutes.

down near the botom right there is a section, that when im NOT looking at it, looks like a person... so i look, and when im atention is drawn to it, i cant find what it was that drew my eye and made me think it was a person. its just when im not paying atention, somehow my brain forms a person out of it. a woman infact, but i cant find anthing in that section that would make me think that there was a woman there.

crazy art. very interesting to look at, i love it

lol thats the problem! i can ONLY ever see her out the corner of my eye. when i actually look for what IM seeing, i cant see it either! . its wierd. there were a couple wierd monsters i could see too, but this stuck out to me because it kept drawing my atention but when i would focus on it, it would slip away and i couldnt find what i was looking for.

its very cool, ive never seen anything that really did that, outside optical illusions
