Tried my hand at an epic pixel piece. Inspired by this lovely work: [link]So, I really wanted to make something simple but powerful. Because with the huge spectrum of differences among Sonic fans, things get really muddled up and drama-tastic. So here's something I hope every fan can enjoy. I really wanted to give the emerald justice as the mysterious, powerful thing that it is. Hope I succeeded!
My favorite version of Sonic's ever-changing design is from Sonic CD, during the animated scenes, because of the simple and charming design. [link]

Hey! I really like this. The colors are very vibrant. Great use of lighting. The colors you picked are great too. I really think this is beautiful. The only suggestion I may have is the only thing that doesn't seem to go with the rest of the piece are the lines on the diamond. Since all other lines are implied with shadows and lighting, to see defined lines is kind of shocking. But, then again, it is also a great way to bring your eye to the center of the piece.
Anyway, either way, it is beautiful. keep up the amazing work! The colors are beautiful. This must look amazing printed.

Awesome, thanks so much for your input! I definitely see what you mean about the emerald, and admittedly it's the element I had the most trouble with in terms of how to render it. I don't think the defined lines detract from it, but there probably is a better way to define it!
