You could say that this is the story all about how, his life got flipped, turned upside down...

Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit so still
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Smallville
Down in Cadmus Labs, I was grown in days
From a UV lamp was where I got most of my rays
Floatin' there, gettin' more power hour by hour
Just learning to replace ol' Big Blue
When a trio of kids who were up to some good
Started snooping around my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and the place fell down
These hero kids said "Hey... Come with us. We live in a mound!"
I wanted to learn from the Man of Steel
But he said he can't trust me cuz I was made to kill
So at Happy Harbor High I hung my coat
Yeah for their baller team I was kinda a showboat
So Pa Kent came to tell me "Uh, uh, no, no"
"With powers like these, you need to lay low"
I wanted to tell him to go get bent
But then he told me I could be a bona fide Kent
But wait I hear in Kansas they're all rednecks and hicks
I don't want to be a hero to a bunch of ungrateful dicks
"I don't think so"
He said, "that don't fit the bill"
I saw for myself what awaited me in Smallville
A sweet old lady took me in
She was the closest thing Kal had to Earthly kin
Scrappin about in the barn with the big dude
Superman said "Hey, how 'bout some time in Solitude?"
I just got here but things were dull
So with quickness we're off to the north pole
I whistled when I saw the fort
Inside a robot gave us a weather report
With a new costume I finally found my solace
Big guy said I was even ready for Metropolis
But I thought, "Nah, forget it."
β "Yo, home to Smallville."
Later I found I was a clone of the big bad bald man
So to Hawaii I left to put my toes in the sand
Soaking in the sun, I could never get my fill
Still I longed to go back and be Prince of Smallville

Why can't this lad have nice things? It was all going well until a little bit of luthor shows of to ruin it. I do like his connections with Tim and M'ggan (bit of the cartoon connection I see). Also this connor seems to be a bit of a chivalrous pervert...he tried to look away...at least at first. X-Ray vision, you're doing it right!

He's lost his tactile telekinesis?Β
I do like Clark's increased involvement in Conner's life. It's more than they seemed to interact in either Young Justice or the comics.Β
And he did seem to at least try to avoid looking at them. Better than he'd usually do.

I know it would be costly but I'd really like to flip through the files in an earth 27 app
Instead of changes pages you can flip through the tabs on the app
Great work as always I really want to see the whole vox costume
You and Phil never cease to amaze me

Line one "Robin (Tom Drake)" ?
Well, at least he tried to look away Sandsmark, give him some credit where credit is due, jeez, also, Stephanie, why do you have a lead lined suit? Exactly how many times has someone tried to x-ray you before you made a designated suit for it?

Probably a standard feature of the Batfamily's League and Titans specific uniforms.

Fair enough, but why? What would the come up against often enough to justify adding a lead lining which is heavy, difficult to work with, and poisonous?

Mind-controlled Kryptonians? I imagine their League uniforms also probably have motors to slightly enhance their strength and speed, too.

korben600 In reply to nightcrawlerfan19 [2016-07-25 05:55:05 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but if you have mind controlled Kryptonians, then X-ray vision is the least of your problems...Also, motors that enhance strength and speed make sense, but first, I feel like Batman would view that as a bit of a cop out and would try to avoid that whenever possible, and second, strength and speed enhancers would make sense against most foes, not a specific foe like kryptonians. (Also, when you say "League uniforms" do you mean the costumes they wear when working with the JL or do you mean something else?)

nightcrawlerfan19 In reply to korben600 [2016-07-25 06:20:34 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's what I mean. And, yeah, x-ray vision would be on the low end of concerns, but considering how many secrets Bruce keeps on his person, the lead would still be important. And the motors would be very minimal. They'd enhance them, at the very, very most, to Captain America levels. Nothing above that.

korben600 In reply to nightcrawlerfan19 [2016-07-25 18:43:07 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, and with the lead thing I can see Batman doing it, but the only other secret I can think of that lead would protect against is radiation poisoning, and I feel like Bats would be the only one who needs it. None of the other members of the clan will encounter it enough to need lead (if they did, Batman would find out and make them stop encountering radiation). The motors I feel are the opposite, Bats wouldn't trust them because they could conceivably be hacked, but some members of the clan would use it (I.E. Red Robin, Red Hood, Batwing (obviously)) but the others I think are just too comfortable with their bodies to use anything else (I.E. Nightwing, Black Bat, Spoiler, Robin)

Riviellan In reply to nightcrawlerfan19 [2016-07-23 13:42:31 +0000 UTC]
If you made the lead thin enough, maybe not.Β
I once made some hypothetical windows meant to keep x-ray vision out.Β
They had lead, one atomic layer thick across the surface.Β
SURE Superman could just LOOK through the freaking window using normal vision, but that wasn't the point.Β
Of course, I didn't research whether a single atomic layer was even possible or if it would be transparent, but this are comic-book laws of science/physics we're talking about.

I really miss 90's Superboy. He was just so much more fun and unique. And, as ridiculous as his costume was: I Loved it. I think it was suppose to be ridiculous. For that matter, I just miss Young Justice. The book. But, also, the cartoon. Is Kon/Conner even alive, right now?! *cries*
*ahem* But, yes. Rockin' File and I think it really works with Superboy.

He was still in the second Nu52 Teen Titans when I quit that book, because it was awful. Greg Pak took over writing it, last I checked. And, I Love him on Action Comics; but... I still can't be Fucked to torture myself like that, anymore.

Aw, poor Conner. But isn't it a bit of an overreaction to finding out Luthor was his 'father'? Being conflicted and depressed, okay but why break off his relationship with M'gann and distance himself from the Kents? Why did they let him?Β
And 'in exchange'? Are you saying Clark wouldn't have taken Conner in if Conner had refused to stage an accident?Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Roysovitch In reply to Ian-Jackson [2016-07-22 18:53:31 +0000 UTC]
It's times like this when I regret having the limited space in the Oracle Files for the narrative section.
When people find out he's part Luthor, he feels ashamed. Every hesitation or ounce of concern he sees on a friend's face, Conner took as mistrust or scorn. In some cases, his friends and family even genuinely felt that way amid the confusion. So to get away from that, he ran away to figure out who he was... to find himself.
With Clark's deal, I don't think it is right to assume that Clark would immediately open his arms to his clone, especially one created by Cadmus to destroy him.
Clark kept his distance out of necessity, for his safety and that of Lois, Martha, Jimmy, Kara... But when he realized his clone was putting himself in danger of being exposed as a Kryptonian, Clark stepped in to protect him too... and in doing so, finally became aware of the kind of person Conner was trying to be and got to see that the clone was a person, too, and so he decided to give Conner a home like the Kents had given Clark once upon a time.
I hope that makes sense and makes it sound better for you.

Plus, Clark seems to be really sensitive to when people use his family's logo and his own genes without his permission. I think he's so concerned with how he lives his own life that people taking those aspects of his life and taking it out of his control is very distressing to him. I think that's why he doesn't always respond to Superboy or Bizarro with his full maturity.
