Description
A very special thank you to mooncalfe for all of her hard work on TMNT and the designs of Artemisia, Jennika, Mona Lisa, and also her redesigns of the Venus De Milo. Stumbling upon these designs not only led me to discovering the IDW TMNT series, but also reignited my interest in the turtles which also convinced me that I had to add the Turtles to my own project, and made me realize that there were others out there that shared my belief that the TMNT franchise needed more female characters and that characters like Venus De Milo and Mona Lisa add a lot of potential and deserved a second chance in the franchise.

In the comics, Jennika doesn't have the name Artemisia. That name is taken from Sophie Campbell's own original character which in turn was inspired by a real-life Baroque artist. Artemisia uses a bow, Jennika uses claws. About the only strong similarities between them, other than being female mutant turtles is Sophie Campbell's involvement and their yellow bandana. Nevertheless, I felt the name was a fitting one for Jennika to adopt in my spin on the character as both a nod to Sophie and a sincere thanks to her for inspiring me.
