He is nearly One year younger than Barbara. It's okay for me

I like the idea of Dick being born on the Spring equinox. Excellent touch.

Now he's got a birthday, 3/20/1986 (at least on Earth-27)

When was Bruce's? October 31st, the scariest day of the year, 1972? December 21st, the darkest day of the year, 1972?

Roysovitch In reply to Steelpoodle [2015-11-07 04:06:44 +0000 UTC]

If I had to give him one, I'd say April 7th (as stated in the comics), 1972 (since that would make him 43)

Steelpoodle In reply to Roysovitch [2015-11-07 04:22:55 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I didn't know if he had an established birthday or not. The joys of having 75 plus years of material, some details get changed or left out. Oh, if you ever do Superman, make his birthday July 4th. You know truth, justice, and the American Way.

If I had to give him one, I'd say September 26th, 1972

This is great, esp Tim's brain fart.

Though Dick is older than I thought he'd be

Well let's see...if Bruce is 43, and Dick is 29 - that means Bruce was 26 when Dick was Robin (12 years old). Makes sense to me!

Again, the Vox log was hilarious. I see Huntress is going to make an appearance, looking forward to seeing what costume she's wearing.

I haven't made up my mind for Huntress' outfit. If you have an opinion on one in particular or suggestions, now is a good time to let me know.
You never know, you may convince me

3 Suggestions. First one is how she was when I was exposed to her in the Justice League Cartoon s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/2… . Second one, Phil has a picture of already on his page though I can also link the picture Artgerm did but, fav.me/d54iyp . Last is one of her older looks that I'm sure you and Phil can figure out how to modernize from the Cry For Blood arc vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/m…

Roysovitch In reply to AzureVirgo [2015-11-07 05:46:21 +0000 UTC]

So your recommendation is every costume she's ever had.
Also, I assume you prefer Helena Bertinelli Huntress and not Helena Wayne.

All the "good" ones she's had . Yes, Helena Bertenelli unless you read about an alternative version better than the Earth-2 reason

Good call on listing the Grayson/Wayne relationship as "surrogate father or surrogate brother", what with the New 52 preferring the latter, whilst "old school" leans towards the former. I know, I'm a nerd. And I'm sorry.

phil-cho In reply to Psychoboy07 [2015-11-07 16:58:21 +0000 UTC]

Well, it depends on what you consider "old school." I know in most animated versions of Batman, Dick was the adopted son, but that wasn't the case in the comics. The dynamic between Bruce and Dick has almost always been more of a big brother/little brother relationship, whereas Bruce was more of a father figure to Jason, Tim, Cass, and obviously Damian. If you read the comics from the 70's and 80's (Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams), they definitely felt more like brothers than anything else.

Dammit, I don't care what the New 52 says, I prefer Daddy Bats! Bruce will always be a surrogate/adoptive father to Dick in my mind.

phil-cho In reply to Melacollina [2015-11-07 17:03:01 +0000 UTC]

I personally like that Dick and Bruce have a big bro/little bro relationship. To me, Dick is Bruce's first true friend... the two understood each other more than anyone else. Bruce is reminded of his youth and what he could have been when he sees Dick, and Dick is inspired by and looks up to Bruce - whereas the following Robins and Batgirls become more like his children. I understand why people feel the way you do though...most animated versions depict their relationship as a father/son type. To me though, that dynamic should be reserved for Jason, Tim, Cass, and Damian.

There's nothing wrong with that and I totally respect your opinion.

Psychoboy07 In reply to Melacollina [2015-11-07 04:44:18 +0000 UTC]

I hear that. Especially since Bruce adopted Richard, thus making them have a brother dynamic kinda icky, IMO.

phil-cho In reply to Psychoboy07 [2015-11-08 19:54:51 +0000 UTC]

Bruce didn't adopt Dick (in the comics anyway). Dick was his ward. People don't really have wards these days, so that concept is lost on a lot of current fans - but Bruce didn't start adopting until Tim and Cassandra....and even then, it wasn't until they'd been Robin and Batgirl for a while. At the end of the day, I guess every Batman fan has their own head cannon that's not necessarily tied to what's going on in comics.

That's pre reboot, right? I think I remember reading that somewhere but never actually read the graphic novel.

Steelpoodle In reply to Melacollina [2015-11-07 03:24:27 +0000 UTC]

Same here I've always like the idea of Bruce and Dick being father and son. Thus making Dick is the prodigal son and heir apparent to the mantel of Batman as the "first born" of the Robins. By making Bruce the father figure of the Robins, it creates tension within the Bat family. Which makes more interesting characters.

Surprised you didn't mention Tim naming himself after a restaurant chain. haha

Also, I believe Jamie Reyes mocked Babs for the "Birds of Prey" title when only member (at the time) was named after a bird, no members had avian powers and no birds were in the roster.
