rtaylor64 In reply to clampfan101 [2013-07-03 22:23:05 +0000 UTC]

yes they have been passed down. They are a pre-Christian Viking alphabet deciphered by roman monks in Sweden over 500 yrs. ago its part of my heritage . Also I'm also pagan I follow a pre Christian religion of my Native American ancestors but I respect all religions and have spoken to many members of other religions on the subject.

a "pre-Christian" religion?
so what does it say on the altar here? is there a simple way to translate it, or would that take years of study?

its easy if you can trace it u can burn it literally. that table was done by hand but a lot of it tracing images just start practicing simple images and go slowly so the tool can do its job.ive taught a few artists the biggest problem is pushing too hard and moving too fast.this is not instant gratification

I would probably give the full link www.pagan.com/BobbyTaylor/ instead of pagan.com, as it took a bit of searching to find you on pagan.com

Very nice stuff there. You have an interesting mix of cultures in yourself and hence in your artwork. Very beautiful.

snazzie-designz In reply to rtaylor64 [2012-12-02 19:41:37 +0000 UTC]

TO get a link, do the following:

1. Go to the website that you want to link to, and in the address bar at the top of the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or whatever browser you are using) you'll see an address such as

[link]

2. Click the address, and drag the mouse over the full length of text, and release the mouse so that the full length of the text has been selected.

3. Then copy that text by holding down CTRL btn on the keyboard & and then hitting the C button on the keyboard (while CTRL is still held down). It will look like nothing has happened.

4. Then you go to a comment box on deviantArt, facebook etc, and paste the text by holding down the holding down CTRL btn on keyboard & and then hitting the V button on the keyboard (while CTRL is still held down).

You'll then have the exact link in your comment, or profile description

If you're using an apple computer I think you use the Cmd button instead of the CTRL button, but still use C for copy, and V for paste as above.

If you already knew how to do this, sorry for being patronising

Doh!

Ok so to copy a link do the following:

1. Go to the webpage that you want to link to in your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc).

2. Go to the browser address bar in your browser, and you will see an address such as: [link]

3. Click into the address bar with the mouse, then hold down the left mouse button, and drag it over the full length of the address text, and then release the mouse button. Make sure it is all selected. The selected text will have a blue background. If you didn't get all of it, left click after the very last character of the address, and then drag the mouse across so you pick up all of the text.

4. With the address now selected, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard (bottom left on the same line as the space bar). While the CTRL button is held down, hit the C button on the keyboard. Then you can release both buttons. It will look like nothing has happened, but this action has copied the address to a virtual clipboard.

5. Go to your deviantArt, or Facebook page, and click into a comment box.

6. Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard (as before). While the CTRL is held down, this time hit the V button on the keyboard. Then you can release both buttons. This will paste the link into your post.

On an Apple machine, I think you use the CMD button instead of the CTRL button, but you use it in the same way with the C, and V buttons respectively.

Also note that this copy n paste will also work on filenames, text, and in Word both text and images. So for example if you wrote something in Word, and you wanted to copy a paragraph from that Word document into an email, you would select the paragraph in Word by dragging the mouse over the required text, copy it (CTRL C), go into Compose message in your email, click on the main text box where you normally type your email message, and paste (CTRL V) the paragraph in

actually there is a serpent on the other side and all of this is done with a woodburner .I've just completed an etched alyar table that i;ve just posted the reason also 4 no blank is the same as yours and it would throw off the symmetry.the spacing was hard enough and ive never done another on since but i lean more toward native american art and what most consider fantasy, but thank you very much i do take orders to make peices for people at very reasonable prices

MadEtcha In reply to rtaylor64 [2011-03-27 02:53:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be honest the most all encompasing answer to that question would be, yes, I am a bit on the pagan side of the fence. I have yet to find a specific genre of spirituality that could satisfy all of the uncertainty within my theories, a word more preferred would be 'alternative'. I've dabbled in everything during my search for answers to the questions I've had, to sum it up, I believe in catholocism to a point, but I feel more strongly that there is not necessarily one omnipotent being, but a genetic collective that resides in all of us. I believe all of us already know the answers to every possible question & outcome, that knowledge need only be 'remembered'.

I could go on to write an epic novel about my belief system.... generally, as spiritual as I am, I must be able to make sense of it from a scientific point of view.

However, I do believe the native americans had a pretty spot on view of things, and I still use what I've learned from their teachings 20 years ago in my present day thought process.

I know thats an eyeful, lol. Hope it answers your question.
