It is actually living at my uncle's, since he has got a huge patio with trees and everything a squirrel needs. My flat is no place for a squirrel

Yeah, we had doubts about leaving him where he was, in case his mother rescued him (?), but he was starving and in a bad shape, so we had to make a decision.
He is the friendliest and healthiest red squirrel now

I'm not sure how a (now) domesticated baby might work out going back into the wild, but that is of course your call. You seem to understand animals very well. My friend Galen and his new friend get along nicely, though not everyone can keep something like a squirrel around, haha!
