It's Suzaku from Yami no Matsuei, one of the Shikigami that Tsuzuki calls upon... supposedly, anyway. Can be any random firebird really.In reality I was playing with Photoshop's dodge tool and it came out all nifty. Not my best work, but bright.

'Just' playing with the dodge tool, eh? Hah! I love the movement in this, and shape is beautiful. Very nice and Suzaku/Phoenix-ish. The trailing pieces of flame and sparks are a nice touch.

wow. i like this a lot. the firey movement was done nicely. like what you did to get those tiny powdery embers flying about. did you use that liquify feature to get all that flow of the fire going?

For the embers it was just a brush (size 65) put on disolve at 1% opacity. Then I used Gaussian blur (I may have spelled that wrong) to soften it.
For the flow of the fire, nah, only the smear tool.

I like the coloring you used. Simple but yet very cool.
