I think I can call this surreal?Inspired by Pink Floyd "Brain Damage", from Dark Side of the Moon.
Acrylics, A2.
took about 2 days to finish.

Dark side of the moon is a very dark album. Perfect inspiration for a triology of paintings in other words. This is the first one and sums it all up nicely, as well as the only one not done at school (the two others were my exam pieces).
I suppose the idea is that the lunatic is in the head all along, and everything else comes out of that. Perhaps from the perspective. There's nothing strange about the grass or the hall, they just appear that way. After the head exploded the emptiness and the apathy, the distance to everything, and the darkness, becomes visible.
Wow I have a lot more to say about it now than when I painted it. Sorry about that

When I saw the title, I immediately thought, "Hey, that's a Pink Floyd tune!" And then I saw the painting and I thought, "Holy cow! She really did paint the Pink Floyd tune!"

I'm rather proud of it, my dad also figured out very quickly what my inspiration was. I said Pink Floyd - he said Brain Damage, Dark side of the moon
I think that's a very good thing about Pink Floyd, their music is very much alive.

Pretty amazing, considering the taste many young people today have in music. It's good to know the good old stuff is still around. Maybe there's hope for my generation after all

It was a combination of the mental images I got when I listened to the song "Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd. I was walking home from school and listening to it for several days, and then one day I thought, why not put them together to see what I can get out of it. So I started sketching a bit at school.
There are a few other Pink Floyd songs as well that might be fitting in the picture, but Brain Damage was really the inspiration.

oh cool! Music painting! Thats awesome. I've tried drawing things that come to my mind while listening to pirates of the carribean songs and there were some weird things but never made anything out of them.
