Organized crime is a major problem in the Confederacy of Poitur. In the most lawless regions, mobsters work with local governments to provide de facto law enforcement in exchange for clemency and the freedom to pursue whichever profits and vendettas they see fit. The lucrative nature of organized crime, particularly the spice trade, leads to disputes over deals, jurisdiction, and territory. A life of crime may be profitable, but it is dangerous.

This mobster is no exception. He is a “soldier” for his gang, all made up of distant relatives who operate closer to an Imperial house than a regular criminal organization. This mobster has lost an arm, either in combat, as torture from an enemy gang, or even as punishment from his superiors. He is carrying a plasma repeater, a primitive but effective energy weapon that can melt through most civilian-grade materials. However, it runs out of batteries quickly; the drum battery gives the weapon extra life. He is also carrying an instrument case, to hide spice containers.
