you are welcome.
Very interesting book so far. Burroughs write things that most of the people ignore. Dying to get other series, looks like i have to read them in english since not yet translated.

what suprises me most is that you enjoy his stuff even though you're a woman. This is to say that i don't believe Burroughs has a single female protagonist or even real female character in any of his prose! All of it is about men having sex and murdering each other or controlling each other, or monsters doing the same. I've known a lot of women who can't stand him. I've read a fair chunk of burroughs though, if you want any mor suggestions.

oh god, give me some suggestions. I was really surprised about burroughs. I have read jack Kerouac and thought that why not try burroughs. I didn't saw homosexual acts or orgies anything "bad" or something that i can't stand. And no female characters? That's something i'm curious about.
But it was really interesting way how he wrote about them. Brutal and yet friendshipping? I have naked lunch, waiting. Do you think he is going to amaze me again?

i enjoy burroughs far more than kerouac. I read the first half of On the Road and got bored... okay, you're going across america, describing your experiences, whoopee. I'd much rather read drug-addled non-sense from Burroughs anyday. Have you done much research about Burroughs, if not, it might help put into perspective why he writes some of his stuff. Especially the no women thing... he did 'accidentally' murder his wife. And his use of homosexual acts don't put me off either, he's just very very dark about them. Especially when he uses hangings as a means for sexual excitement. I think his dark worlds resonate much more with me than Kerouac's ramblings, they seem more real in their surreality.

Cities of the Red Night comes much later in his life... His books do have a stylistic progression about them and he's in it thick by that point. I would suggest reading his first two books, Junky and Queer, which are before he discovered his 'cut and paste' style with Naked Lunch. There's also a ton of recordings of him, reading his stuff or performing with bands like Nirvana or REM which are amazing.

<3333 You're most graciously welcome. "Super" is just the shortened version of superlative. <33333
