I like this alot. Wanted to give you a good scanning tip in photoshop. I've noticed when I do hand inking (I usually use micron finelined drafting pens), especially using a sharpee, the scanner picks up big splotches of different black color in the area filled in by the sharpee.

The easiest way to fix this in photoshop is go to
image/adjustments/levels and move the level slider over to about 110. This gives you a really good white/black contrast and blends all you black ink so that it is a uniform color.

The only disadvantage of this method is that it greatly increases the digital images sensitivity to erase marks of your penciling, but all you have to do is get out your handy erasing tool and touch it up.

The darker version looks alot better. I think it makes the art alot more readable too.

I'd really like to figure out a way to just do my penciling and digitally ink it by pressing the perfect digital inking button but I havent figured that out yet. Heh

PPS If you do any digital black paintbrush fixes on your comic before you do your digital coloring the black digital paintbrush will be a different color than your source art so I recommend doing the above step right before youre ready to color so all your blacks are a pretty pretty pretty same black.

I won't lie: I think that the visual storytelling could be improved. Still, it's a very striking series of panels, it's disturbing and emotionally powerful.
