"You know there's something you need
Right here and now
To fill the space
Inside of yourself, oh-oh!
With money, love or power..."

Interesting! Its very film noir! Did you draw it or derive it from an older comic?

ha! it is actually a couple panels from an early issure of Silver Surfer (that being him I imposed my face on.). It was originally drawn by John Buscema and written by Stan Lee. I love that classic style as well; the use of shadows and striped color scheme is splendid!

John Buscema was the artist who took over drawing conan the Barbarian after Barry Windsor Smith left in'73.
Smith is my all time favorite comic book artist. i kept collectiong Conan for a dozen years hoping he'd come back. i like Buscmea's work though. he left his imprint on comics with those Conan books! Your strip must have been before those days. I think he died in the 90's...

i believe that it is from the late 60's early 70's... Buscema's early style, especially with the first few Silver Surfer issues, is very Kirby-ized, with the iconic 'Kirby Dots', shadows, and facial features. Yet there's enough of his own take and obvious skill which definately sets him as one of my favorite classic Marvel artists. Sadly, it seems his work is overshadowed by BWS's and Kirby's in a historical context. Oh well, as time progresses and more nerds discover him, I'm sure he'll be remembered for his stellar art, especially with the Silver Surfer series.

I'm not familiar with his Silver Surfer work...I think he will always be remembered for his Conan series. they are reprinting most of Buscema's work from the Savage Sword of Conan magazine - in book form! I have volumes 1 and 2..if you are a fan I think Dark Horse publishes them. I got my copies from the Science Fiction Book Club...
