second pic in the 100 drawings contest thingy i'm doing. this one is for... of course... batman.i really don't understand those who believe that batman can only be dark... isn't that really undermining the expanse of the character? it makes him quite one-dimensional and boring...

I do enjoy when they do Batman's darkness right, but I enjoy even more the awesome parodies of his darkness, such as Batman: Remix. Oh, how I miss that place. So awesome.

Well sadly, the site was closed down when the creator (Andrew McAwesome) ran out of money to pay for the site every month. A sad tale, indeed. My brother has the comics somewhere on his hard-drive, I'll need to ask him to upload them sometime. Very funny stuff, sad to see them go.

the silver age comics are a trip enough... that stuff is what got me believing in batman again... i have long theories about where the character could go if DC wasn't so afraid of change...alas!

yeah i stopped paying attention to the new stuff a while back. i closed off dc from my good list when they enacted the 'no more funny heroes' clause and started putting things like rape and decapitations into comics. it's just gratuitous and making violence sexy... gasp, i'm sounding like frederick wertham!
i'll stop before i start drawing lines for 'decency'. i'll let dc continue to do their stuff but i'm just not going to buy any of it.

Yeah, Image is very quickly becoming my favorite comics company, seconded by Marvel. DC's just too dark now, no more fun campiness.

while image as Invincible, Walking Dead and Fear Agent...not to mention just crazy Robert Kirkman antics! marvel is doing alright because they have busiek and bendis.

Marvel has Kirkman, too. I (secretly) think that Kirkman does no writing of his own, but that he just has the power to travel to universes in which he does write. Maybe he has one Kirkman write each title! I mean every month he has a new issue of Invincible, Walking Dead, Fear Agent, and a few Marvel Team-Ups! Unless the dude is the freaking second coming of Jesus himself, this sort of thing just isn't possible without super powers.

Those awesome hilarious back-up strips that ran in the back pages of Invincible for a while? I think they ended at issue 20 or something... Anyway, yeah. Nate and Benito are definitely among my favorite comedy teams, seeing as how Benito wrote Tales from the Bully Pulpit, too. And Hug Salesman (in my gallery).
