It's not a prince - but you may turn in to one if you try. More than likely you'll just get slimy though Thanks

^ I didnt read any of the above.
It looks slimy. Where did you find it and how come it didnt jumo away?
I would have stepped on it and took pleasure in hearing it go "girrbit-squish".

Yes definitely - I have it on good authority that all frogs were once princes. However, I also have it on good authority that this is a homosexual frog - so no promises.
I'm a digital photographer. I have one photo in my gallery that was film (one of the first pictures... of some stairs). I kinda enjoy processing film and everything in a darkroom, but can't justify the price and difficulty of film photography at home and getting stuff developed at shops costs a bit and isn't fun. I'm probably too picky for film - I can't stand digital noise or grain or discolouration or any of the other aspects of what makes film so charming and timeless - to be brutally honest, i'd rather see a good photoshoped digital photo than a pure, film photo that truthfully represents every imperfection.
(sorry to rant - I know you didn't ask all this but I just felt like bitching )
What about you? (always tend to just presume everyones digital nowadays)

haha that's funny. no promises?! darn. i guess ill just have to take a chance. those damn frog princes are so fickle these days.
and you're right about film. i think we've all been spolied by the instant gratification of digital and the ability to correct imperfections easily.
I am a digital user as well. Unfortunately i dont have much experience with film photography at all. So in a way i feel as if im cheating. BUT luckily a friend is letting me borrow his film camera so im pretty determined to learn all the tricks of this trade even if it costs me hundreds in film development.

It's not cheating - it's just advancing. Im sure my mother doesn't feel like she's cheating when she uses one of those newfangled cookers as opposed to those charming old stick fires which although harder to start, produce finer, charcoal tasting food Anyway - good luck with the film ( you'll be able to snobbishly advertise the fact that digital is evil and photoshop is the work of Satan
- there I go again, sorry )

Awesome photo. I love the focus-real soft and nice. Very nice close up of the frog. The color combination is perfect because the colors are all the same color just of different shades, which give it a very natural feel. Where was this taken at?

Well the composition of the piece is impressive. I think the color scheme and softness is what makes it. It is real professional in color.

Glad you like it - kept swapping between sepia and the original colour and couldn't find anyone to ask which was best. This effect always feels a little like photomanipulation for some reason

yeah I hear ya. I always think any color alteration is a manipulation, but everyone says its not, so its not apparently

i like the soft focus and the colors and the fact that it's a frog.

RYAN99 In reply to famish99 [2005-03-19 16:49:44 +0000 UTC]
lol - thanks. The soft focus look is mainly because of the uber-shallow depth of field ( 1.8, focussed on the eyes at about 20 inches away - which kinda got the leg and a part of the rock in focuc too as it was at an angle )... and shaky hands.

Ohhh right, I see. Yeah they were slightly I guess - the sepia overtone kinda accentuates that.
