Tom slammed into Kaz, pinning the redhead’s wrists to the concrete ground in a tight, almost bruising grasp. “I won‘t let you do it! You‘re not going back to him!” Tom yelled, anger in his expressive blue eyes as he glared down into other’s warm brown.

“Tom…let me go. Chaor won’t like if I‘m late.” Came Kaz’s soft voice, low and soothing trying to calm the beast his best friend had become. Tom shook his head violently, rain drops flying free from the raven tresses, “You‘re not going anyway near him! I won‘t let this go on any longer!”

Kaz sighed, closing his eyes for a moment before looking back up at his raven-haired friend, “It‘s alright, Tom, I-” A yelp left his mouth as Tom actually growled at him, “It is NOT ‘Alright!’” Tom’s eyes were wide with an almost crazed look, “He‘s hurting you! I‘ve seen the bruises! The blood! The scars! How can you say it‘s ‘alright?!’”

Kaz gave a painful smile, suddenly unable to make eye contact with his friend, instead peering up at the storming sky above them, “I love him…”

“He‘s killing you! What we do in Perim and Chaotic isn‘t suppose to backlash to our real selves, but…”

Kaz gasped softly as Tom’s warm fingers brushed over four evenly spaced scars on his side. The soft touch bring back flashes of memory. Memories of tears, blood and ecstasy.

“I love you, Kaz…I can love you more than he can!” Tom pleaded to the redhead, leaning down close enough for their breaths to mix, but Kaz turned his head away, unable to look at Tom anymore.

His best friend, one of the most precious people in his life had never looked more beautiful. Blue eyes blazing against the lightning flashing in the harsh sky behind him, soft but strong features highlighted by the flash light and the raindrops running over his light tanned skin, raven black hair mussed by the wind.

“…Why?” With Tom’s broken voice came hot tears slashing onto Kaz’s cheeks, as the dark haired teen shook, his lithe body trembling over Kaz‘s, head hung in defeat.

In truth, Kaz had no real answer for him. Instead of trying, he leanrf up pressing his lips to Tom’s forehead in a not quite kiss, the only form of comfort he could think to give.
