Description From Anno Astra...

Pilot’s softsuit (version 2) – Standard wear for mobile suit operators, especially those engaged in combat operations. While virtually identical to a typical skinsuit, the pilot’s softsuit also acts as a g-suit. It uses bundled active fibres (a type of artificial muscle), an integral component of the fabric, instead of the traditional pneumatic or hydraulic system for controlling blood flow during high-g situations. While the softsuit itself offers fair ballistic protection against low-velocity projectiles, additional protection is provided by semi-rigid plates made of lightweight cermet composites interlaced with a tough polymer matrix and outer cladding. These plates often have a thin underlayer of gel-based sealant which, upon exposure to vacuum, form a temporary seal over small suit punctures. The armour plates are connected to the softsuit by means of various attachment points woven into the suit. Some of the attachment points can also interface with bio-monitors and other gear. The rigid cuff attached to the upper arm, for example, is a combat medikit, capable of dispensing the pharmaceutical appropriate for the situation, such as painkillers, stimulants, broad-spectrum antibiotics, etc.

Is it just me or is she missing part of her left arm? Great job, it's better than anything I could put out.

Ah, it's behind her back. Saves me the trouble of rendering fingers. XD

I find the suit kinda bulky for a piloting suit, but it's still pretty sweet-looking!

The idea of a quasi-self regenerating pilot suit is rather brilliant especially with your concept which is quite realistic. Very interesting to see how you've thought up of this pilot suit actually being practical and not just for show.

Your reflective lighting again improves the feel of this piece but doesn't really have as strong an effect as with the Jerboa Demi suit piece.

Forgot to mention that the puncture sealant has some antiseptic & antibiotic properties (it's just a flesh wound!).

This is actually an older piece, so I wasn't that comfortable yet with reflective lighting. The whole reflective lighting thing made me realize how important it was to get rid of the plain white background as soon as possible. That and a slow-healing after-image problem in my right eye.
