I started this thing MONTHS ago, and it had just been sitting on my work bench, half-finished, frustrating me with washed out colors and lackluster texture. It suddenly hit me the other day that I've done a LOT of other, better paintings since I had worked on it, and returned to finish it to my satisfaction in one afternoon. The biggest problem had turned out to be the composition itself - the outermost row of teeth hadn't been added in, and the image was too squished up in the middle. Filling up the canvas with one more row of teeth really made all the difference, and the color and textures fell in as I went.
