Description
- Redesigned Pyro-GX, from the Descent series of video games.- Both the re-designing and the modelling were entirely done by me.
- Perhaps some of you know the game where this ship is originally from, for those of you who don't here's a Fan-made original Pyro-GX (Image and model (c) of respective owners)

PERSONAL NOTE:
I had tons of fun working on this model as I was a huge fan of the game when I was like 12-13... This is the final untextured model, I don't know if I will be texturing it later on, so enjoy! I tried to preserve the essence of the original Pyro while giving it a totally new and radical change of looks, I hope I did well. So with this ship I have done my memorial to perhaps one of the best old-school games of all time.

Sick redesign. Tho, I'd like to point out that the GX is a heavily modified version of the GR, which is General Reconnaissance.
This looks more like an actual fighter (more like an interceptor), than a long-range scout ship.
Still tho, good job. This would be a great official (as in made by ISI themselves) design based on the GX modifications, but built for speed (more aerodynamic and what look like vector-thrust capable engines) and heavy use of primary cannons (longer tubes, more focusing devices, more powerful emitters).
But I guess you knew this?

You should so donate a more game-friendly version to the Into Cerberon project... That is gorgeous, easily the best rendition of a Pyro I've seen!
Of course it's your model, I just think that would be cool.

The only version I have of this ship is this one, it is extremely high-poly; however, if anyone over at their end is willing to take it and work it down to game-friendly, I will really consider donating it to 'em. Woah this looks really different from your previous models, but I think this will be one of the coolest one! It do looks like you took an idea from somewhere else, but it has your style all over it. Thats good art pal.

Lol, well, glad you think tha way... That's exactly what I wanted to do with this model, deviate from the norm... Now just wait for the next model I'm gonna submit pretty soon... That was a MAJOR deviation of the norm for me, but I am extremely happy with the results.

Yeah, nice work! I like the design and especially the modelling so I'd say you did a great job! Are you going to texture it, too? Cause it will look even better after some nice texturing, I guess

someone got ahold of me on instant message and approached me asking if i owuld model for a decent based mod, and showed this model as an example of some of the planned game stuff, looks a little high to be a game model tho

Yeah, this is the "presentation" model, yeah very high poly indeed, but I'm working on a model with enough polys for the game... We did a mistake and went crazy on the polygons, thinking that we might be able to easily bring 'em back down later... But it's resulting a bit more of a pain that I thought it would be... But well, shaving off polys shall be one of my specialties ^_^

just that they wanted me to join the team. sadly im not sure ill be able to accept, ive got a pretty full plate as is.
ive found it much easyer to start really low then go up than the reverse...its just a bitch to try and get rid of excess geometry.
