There's an interesting story behind this picture. Seeing as I want to do graphic novels involving anthro characters, I thought I'd do a short booklet on the history of their world, as opposed to ours. This red-tailed hawk anthro is a Native American warrior, proving himself in a violent but necessary ritual. You see, he is one of many eligible young warriors who want to marry the cheiftan's daughter, and to prove themselves they must face off against each other to earn their right to marry her ... which means that the warrior could possibly become the leader of his tribe one day. Sweet!

So, here's our warrior in the midst of battle. Wearing nothing but a simple loincloth, he is 100% vulverable to any attack his opponants can dish at him. You might notice some of the scars... they all come in threes. They aren't allowed to use any weapons, other than their own two feet. Check out those talons! They are allowed to use the environment to their advantage, though, and if one of them climbs up a tree and times their fall correctly, they can land on their opponant and leave a devasting (and possibly lethal) injury.

One of the arms looks awkward, and one of the feet is cut off by the edge of the paper... but other than that, I love this picture.
