Hah, I recently watched a short documentary about many different bird species, the Lammergeier being one mentioned and instantly fell in love with it. Searched it on DA and found this.
Looks amazing!

Wow! I just adore his colouring and his scaly fore-feet! Vulture-like gryphons are underappreciated.

well done making the wings look proportionate and functional without looking huge and sloppy! i have trouble drawing my 'gryphons' with their wings folded so they look natural and comfrtable.

Neaaaaat These birds don't get nearly enough love.
And I've always been captivated by the idea of sky burials. Seeing those photos on the wikipedia page were shocking, but amazing.

I'm a huge fan of unusual griffins, and this one is fabulous! A lammergeir and a caracal; how can one go wrong with that?

I love Jhator x3 But why does he eat bones? He has no teeth to clean! (as far as I know >>....)

Lammergeiers specialize in eating bones, whole. They even take large bones and break them by flying high and dropping them on rocks. They are after the marrow.
Here's a neat video about it: [link]
So...he eats bones because he's a lammergeier :>
