Either way, you don`t have to have pale skin to be a part of the Goth Sub-Culture, saying "tanned skin, throws it off" is highly offensive to those with a tanned complexion or different race. since your comment was so small and unspecific, it was blunt and will be took the wrong way, i didn`t misunderstand anything, i saw your comment and took it how it was structured.

I correct you... You have to have White skin colour or you would have the wish to have a light skin colour, because this is to be part of the Goth Style... I mean, if you have a dark coloured skin you can be part of the Goth Style but you have to paint your skin or to want a lighter colour skin... It's an idealistic line you have to have if you want to be part of the Goth Style... Goth is not only beenìing dressed with strings, laces and tatting things it must be a way of life, if it is not like that you are not a Goth but only a person that dress with dark thing full off strange necklaces and chains...

Your view on the Goth Sub-culture is both racist and narrow minded, Goth is not about fashion, music and skin colour, but about the mindset of the individual, you are no Goth, those who are, are open minded, and embrace both dark and natural beauty in life and death, Goth has no race, we are all human and we can not choose the colour and tone of our skin, but we can choose what to wear, listen to and act like and you miss, are acting like a narrow minded being, please take some time out to research and speak with elder Goths, best to lean towards British Goths, as that is where Goth became more well none and embraced, and still is vastly popular to this date.

Goth is ALSO Fashion, Music and not skin colour, but to want to be look like and act similar to a determinated period that is the Romantic/Victorian Age... You are talking about mindset and open mind, but what do you know about Goth?? What do you think about life?? And who are you to tell me that I'm racist and narrow minded?? No one, just a kid that dress like Us, because he want to be complimented and wants the others to say that you are "gorgeous" or "beautiful"... THIS IS NOT LIKE A GOTH WANTS... I wear goth dresses because I LOVE it... I love the literature, I love the look like, I love the music and I love the Ideal of the Romantic Goth Style... Because I'M GOTH in the inside, so no matter if I don't dress with my laces and my tattings, no matter if when I do it people without the thin little idea of what I feel, like you, tells me that I look like a clown... I will always be a Romantic Goth because I'm This in My Heart and in My Mind...

What. The. Fuck. You can't really define Goth other than saying that the person has a dark outlook on life, like WolfGal said.. Goth has a point of origin, sure, and there are specific types of music/fashion that are associated with the label. But Goth has evolved to define a mindset and lifestyle, not so specific as to say: "You HAVE to listen to this, wear this, look like this, act like this, etc" in order to BE Goth. No.

MoniaVolturi, you really need to rewrite your argument, because the grammar and thought process is difficult to follow. I also don't know if you are arguing against my stupid comment, or what WolfGal said.. And I don't understand how WolfGal is any way racist considering she is the one defending the ability for ANYBODY being able to be Goth. Now, that is definitely racist in some sense, as you exclude people from being Goth if they don't try to have white skin. Who wants white skin? It's light. I would prefer a darker skin tone.

Just to clarify again my very first comment above.. I wasn't thinking about race/ethnicity when I commented. I wasn't thinking when I wrote it, how it would/could be taken. I would have deleted the comment a long time ago, but I don't know how the fuck to do that. Nothing against the guy model. I love that type of clothing, wish I could afford more..

I'm done. This whole discussion of "What is Goth" is overly discussed.
