Description This is from my fave scene from "Taming of the Screwy" when Scratchy told the Warner they had to leave the Hollywood party because Plotz didn't want them to stay:

Dot: "No dinner with Mel Gibson?"
Yakko: "No dancing with Michelle Phifer?"
Wakko: "No chit-chat with Don Knotts?"

I really felt sorry for them because they kept their end of the deal!

But in the end, it was them who received the check from the 2 Japanese producers, and not Mr. Plotz himself. Which serves him right.

BTW, yes I also saw Bonkers on that channel too! Back when it first aired on September 4, 1993. Then I also saw Animaniacs which started it's run on the 13th of that same month. Oh, but before those 2 shows, I saw Thomas in this show during the summer of 1993. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IxMJ3…

In "Yakko -strange things happening", this incident was referenced and analyzed as an example of how humans feared & hated warners -because they are different. Yakko is being forced into taking a part in the dread Kingdom Hearts Wars that have come to his world as the Key has come to him, and as the Heartless and Nobodies try to break him and destroy him, making him seem violently insane to all around him. The fan-fic is only 8 chptrs and appears to be in hiatus, and the DevArt pictures have text, but these fragments haven't been appended to the fan-fic text....

The author may have lost interest or commitment.... He also made me his enemy !

Hey, it's not Scratchy's fault that HIS BOSS, Mr. Thaddeus Plotz told him to eject them from the party!

Dr. Scratchansniff: Vot?! But zey did zere part of de bargain!

Mr. Plotz: I don't care! We don't have that check yet, and they're not going to mess it up!

Yakko: You know, there's a lesson to be learned from all of this...

Dr. Scratchansniff: Oh yeah, and vats zat?

Yakko: I dunno, but whatever it is, it's worth a million dollars!

*Yakko kisses the check ala "Temporary Insanity" and shows it to Dot and Wakko*

Yakko: We're rich!

Plotz: That's my check!

*Plotz takes the check*

Yakko: We're poor!

Indeed. Some shows are just that...great, such as with Animaniacs!, old-school Sonic (before Sega, Archie, and 4Kids screwed him over), anything that's retro Walt Disney ("The Early Years" [including Mickey] and "The Modern Classics" of the 80's-90's), anything that's classic Jim Henson (vintage Sesame Street [basically from its inception to right before the 'Tickle Me Elmo' crap], Fraggle Rock [original puppet version and animated spin-off version], The Muppet Show [as well as its sister cartoon variant in Muppet Babies], and movies like Labyrinth & the first two TMNR films [though I know TMNT is copyright Mirage Comics, but Henson's Creature Shop made the Turtle costumes for the films]), etc.

We have alot in common! Nowadays, there is just junk for kids now. Did you read my journal? The only thing these "execs" are "drawing" are fat paychecks! no creativity. The Archies? OMG! I loved them! As of this month, 4Kids are TOTALLY taking over Kids WB. Kids WB will be no more, not even a little...I was really upset when I read that. But the writing was on the wall a long time ago...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TherealRNO In reply to SailorUsagi1 [2007-10-12 12:05:13 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. It seems we do have a lot in common. Maybe with rumors of Disney reverting back to what it was best at--that is, 2D animation--by 2008, other stations follow suit to bring back the glory days since long past. This way, if Hollywood dare to make B-List garbage out of beloved icons, fans and creators can unite to make things right!

*prays the probable "Fraggle Rock" movie keeps true to Henson's legacy for the characters (whether the movie be based on the original puppet version-- [link] --or the animated spun-off version-- [link] --is irrelevant if it's not true to the source)*

But sadly, the artists have to listen to the stuffed shirted management, because that is how they're paid.
