Description
Due to popular demands ,I decided to make a coloring tutorial .To avoid page stretch ,I used flash to make a book like tutorial .I had a lot of fun working with flash, though it was frustrating at times. I checked the tutorial 4 times ,and had 2 friends tested it /correct it for me ,so it should work smoothly .Just a Note. This tutorial is not for beginners ,it's for people with at least some understanding of how digital programs work .This tutorial is very general that means it have about a little of everything .
Tip .If you have trouble with picking colors or shading ,then you should probably try to find some good references on google (cloth ,skin ,shoes ,etc) . It helps a lot .Also picking colors comes with experience, you can't expect to learn it in one day ,again the best way to learn about the different tone combination is to find references and learn from them .

I love this tutorial.
I was doing a piece for a friend of mine for the anniversary of her friend's death. For the life of me, I could not color it correctly, or any way that looked humanly possible. I came across this tutorial of yours here. Very informing. Gave me good direction on how I could finish it.Especially loved the hair part. Couldn't really find a decent way to color it nicely, but now it looks awesome.

I have a very hard time with the blending part.
This may sound really dum but once you have the opposite colors and then the photoshop round brush, how do you "blend" them? how do you perform the action of blending with the brush?

Set the brush at a low opacity. ^^ It is explained on the right side. Hope that helps.

I never understood what Preserving Opacity, Clipping Group and Selection Source does. How does it affect your Art?

Preserving the opacity, what basically it does is lock the color on that layer, so whatever area that you have colored on that layer is locked, therefore you cannot color outside the area you already colored. this is great for shading which you have to do on top of your base color, that way it won't mess around wih the rest of the picture, and will color only within the color that is locked on the layer. Hope that helped

This is such a great tutorial! My only hang up however is how quickly it went from cell shading to color blending :s I am confused whether or not all of the shading goes on the same layers we did the base colors or if they go onto a band new one? Also, when It comes to color blending how do you get it to be so smooth? What tools are you using to achieve some smooth and milky skin?! Thanks alot, for sharing you knowledge and you're talent with us!!!
