Description It's a bit abstract ... but drawn with automatic techniques ... Hb and 2B graphite on HP watercolour paper ... about 34 x 24 cm

As I was drawing the title developed too ...

"The mind's eye concealed by emergent properties; networks in cognition."

It's based around theories of learning and cognition in neuropsychology.

wow,the texture is just amazing.
my first thought:an exaggerated interpretation to show how the eye communicates with the mind.

It made me think of the nervous system that all ends in this place of silence which is the basis of our being. You know that place wich so many people are missing these days and probably don't know it's there anyway.

Anyway i think it's a great piece of art... it's a Fav!

First of all, your technique is quite accurate and precise. I love the way you managed to combine precision and truth in this artwork. Cognition does work this way and is well illustrated.

Second of all, the way I see it is how the mind works. Simple as this. The central element (the sky and the moon) is processed through our nervous system, thus our ability to make out the concept as we see it.

Nicely done.

Thank you for this wonderful and inspiring comment ... Your reading of it is very close to my original intentions.

(If you are interested, the neural network hidden in there is the minimal required for a reliable and/or network that may reflect cognitive function in the brain.)

Fantastic. From a brain and vision guy, I see is as a direct representation of the fact that the retina is a part of the brain, a thin layer of cells on the brain. And that the eye and iris are also integral parts (emergent patterns) of our selves, not an evolutionary accessory, despite their separation physically and developmentally.

What a great interpretation! Thank you!

I've always been intrigued by how we express so much of ourselves with our eyes, all those involuntary little fluctuations that contribute to non-verbal communication. (I'm a brain and dementia girl!)

This is phenomenal. The shading, technique and skill are amazing. Almost impossible to believe that you did it by hand and not in the computer somehow. You are truly talented sir.

As for what I see. It seems to me that it's a central collection of energy that is interconnected to other units or pathways to like entities.

Impressively brilliant.
