Fantastic, I love this kind of art.
It seems to me that the face is on the belly because the bright red is the most recognizable and striking part of the American Robin.

I do too
I modeled the face on the belly after after the sun because of a story I remember from my childhood. I'm not sure where it comes from, just that the Robin was the keeper of the sun and that's why his stomach was red.

There's so much spirituality in these drawings, but some people don't go far enough to actually understand the stories that the outlines tell.

To me the stories are the most interesting part! But, then again, I am a big fan of mythology.

So am I! Sometimes the mythology is the most believable part... and least the part you WANT to believe, because occasionally, it seems more logical... to me, at least.

I see plenty of these guys in my neighbourhood, but this one here looks the coolest

I see them every so often. Lately I've been seeing more Magpies and Bluejays than anything else.
